Divide
and rule
Walls are often used as design elements
to separate areas, while simultaneously
creating a flow between them. The
addition of flowing water in the pretty
wall by InDesign (pictured right) adds an
additional soothing aspect.
“THIS DECORATIVE
FEATURE CREATES
A DIVISION BETWEEN
THE ENTRANCE AND
THE LIVING SPACE
BEYOND, WITHOUT
INTERRUPTING THE
VIEWS TO THE BACK
OF THE HOUSE,” SAYS
Brief: To capture the warm Miami
climate and maximise flow between
the interiors and the surrounding
landscape, with its Miami Beach views
Location: Collins Waterfront District,
Miami, US
Company: SOATA
Due to the large size of this sixbedroom
family home, the interior
design needed to make the house
less overwhelming, without stealing
focus from the spectacular views. This
mirrored wall (pictured left) creates
private areas within the large, openplan
and luxuriously furnished space,
while also creating a streamlined look
and maximising the light for a refined
and comfortable look.
