Triangles<br />
Classifying triangles<br />
All triangles may be classified according to their sides or according to their<br />
angles as follows.<br />
By sides<br />
By angles<br />
Scalene triangle<br />
No sides or angles congruent.<br />
Acute-angled triangle<br />
All angles are acute.<br />
Isosceles triangle<br />
Two sides congruent <strong>and</strong> the<br />
angles opposite them are also<br />
congruent.<br />
Right-angled triangle<br />
One of the angles is a right angle.<br />
Equilateral triangle<br />
All three sides congruent <strong>and</strong> the<br />
angles opposite them are also<br />
congruent (60° each).<br />
Obtuse-angled triangle<br />
One of the angles is an obtuse<br />
angle.<br />
