Most Venerable Master Hui
Hai, Born in Chao Shan,
China, Ven. Master Hui Hai
received his primary and
secondary school education in Malaysia
and subsequently went to England in the
60’s for his tertiary education. He held a
Bachelor Degree in Science and Double
Master’s Degree in Computer Science
(MSc) and Management Business
Administration (MBA). Master Hui Hai is
honored to be one of the First Malaysian
to receive the Associate Fellowship of
“The massive
characters make the
world as the best”….
The Institute of Mathematics (AFIMA)
as a Mathematician, and was elected
Member of The British Computer Society
(MBCS) as a qualified expert Computer
Systems Analyst during early 70’s.
Returning from England with
a solid educational background,
Master Hui Hai has the compassion for
propagating the Teachings of Buddhism
and the Compassion in educating youth
especially in Humanistic Buddhism. He
has a unique approach in planning and
execution of Buddhists events, Dharma
Talks, charitable as well as cultural
activities. He is an influential figure
among Buddhist Monks on development,
cultivation and propagation of Buddhism
in Malaysia. He has written 16 books and
one of his notable quotes say: “There is
no success without obstacles ”.
With his persistence and
perseverance, he has created many
marvels:
In 1994, he launched the 1st
Buddhist Hymns in karaoke edition that
was well received by young Buddhists.
In 1996, he initiated and organized a
massive Master Hsing Yun Dharma Talk
in Shah Alam Stadium, Malaysia, which
was attended by 80,000 strong crowds.
In 1998, he founded Yayasan Humanistic,
which hosted uncountable charitable
activities and events benefiting the less
fortunate in the society.
In 1999, he started the adoption
for needy students. To date, this plan has
benefited 340 students who received
at least RM300 monthly allowance and
many of them have completed university
education who in turn help in supporting
the less fortunate in the programme. In
2000, he kicked off the “ Moral Education
Examination” which was participated by
over 22,000 students.
In 2001, he launched the “
Humanistic Buddhism Unified Test ” over
6,000 people took part in the test and it
was recorded with the highest Buddhist
Tests for that year. In 2002, he initiated
a massive Buddhist Charity Performance
which he composed over 20 Buddhist
songs and published 2 compact discs.
He is one of the well-known calligraphy
masters in Malaysia. His masterpieces
were exhibited locally as well as overseas
including France, Italy and China. The
Group Artists of Domaine de la Source,
Sain Domain au Mount d’Or, France has
certified and commented Ven. Master’s
calligraphy as “ Modern Creative
Calligraphic Art Master “ in Paris, France.
Tokens raised from his calligraphy were
donated for school education fund.
Founded Humanistic Publication which
published 3 Buddhist Magazines and
over 16 books which were used by many
Buddhist Associations in the country as
important teaching materials.
Over the years, many International
and local exchange events. For example:
“ the White Horse Temple (in China)
International Calligraphy and Art
Exhibition” in Malaysia. Founded the 1st
Buddhist Monastery in Pahang, Malaysia
which acts as a “cradle” for sanghas. In
2005 founded Dharma Buddhist Uni with
registered student population of 8000 to
date.
