[ From Being Stuck To Making Things Stick ] [ How To Make Thinking Visible ]<br />

On Saturday, <strong>February</strong> 9, Ms. Mediana,<br />

Ms. Mutya, and Mr. Deden participated in<br />

Teacher's Training titled "How To Make<br />

Thinking Visible" by Hendro Widjaya.<br />

He exposed the workshop participants to<br />

various activities which helped them bring<br />

their ideas into realization.<br />

Ms. Medi along with Ms. Nani continued<br />

on to the next training session "Showing<br />

Students What Success Looks Like"<br />

by Neil McRae.<br />

Through this conference teachers gained<br />

new insights on teaching strategies and<br />

deeper understanding of education field.<br />

On Saturday, <strong>February</strong> 9, Ms. Reni, Ms.<br />

Mediana, Ms. Mutya, Ms. Nani, Ms. Nina<br />

and Mr. Deden attended ANPS Teachers<br />

Conference <strong>2019</strong> at Beacon Academy<br />

Kelapa Gading Jakarta. The 1 st topic was<br />

“From being stuck to making things stick:<br />

teaching so students remember”.<br />

They learned how emotion is a learning<br />

process in itself and how human brain<br />

worked to our way of thinking with ANPS<br />

keynote speaker Dr. Ben Schmidt.<br />

For the 2 nd session Ms. Reni continued<br />

on individual training and learned the<br />

strategies to teach special additional<br />

needs students with Mr. Gareth Steed.<br />

With Mr. Gaylord Anderson she learned<br />

how to use mind mapping and other<br />

strategies to enhance retention of<br />

what has been taught.<br />

For the last session Ms. Reni and<br />

Ms. Mutya had sharing session on<br />

how teachers need to build strong<br />

relationship with students during<br />

class meeting. It was important to<br />

really get to know our students to<br />

reach a successful learning process.<br />

[ Games In Reading : A Teaser For Reading In Secondary Class ]<br />

Ms. Darlina attended her 2nd ANPS<br />

Teachers Conference <strong>2019</strong> at Beacon<br />

Academy on Saturday, <strong>February</strong> 9.<br />

Besides "Knowledge & Emotions" by<br />

Ben Scmidt and "How To Include Humor<br />

In Lesson" training, she also went on to<br />

individual session of "Games In Reading:<br />

A Teaser For Reading In Secondary Class"<br />

Although it is quite challenging for<br />

teachers to maintain and improve<br />

motivation among Secondary Class<br />

students, but through games and fun<br />

activities (which are still a favorite<br />

activity for everybody) we can get<br />

objectives done with less work but<br />

still learn a lot of things.
