[ From Being Stuck To Making Things Stick ] [ How To Make Thinking Visible ]
On Saturday, February 9, Ms. Mediana,
Ms. Mutya, and Mr. Deden participated in
Teacher's Training titled "How To Make
Thinking Visible" by Hendro Widjaya.
He exposed the workshop participants to
various activities which helped them bring
their ideas into realization.
Ms. Medi along with Ms. Nani continued
on to the next training session "Showing
Students What Success Looks Like"
by Neil McRae.
Through this conference teachers gained
new insights on teaching strategies and
deeper understanding of education field.
On Saturday, February 9, Ms. Reni, Ms.
Mediana, Ms. Mutya, Ms. Nani, Ms. Nina
and Mr. Deden attended ANPS Teachers
Conference 2019 at Beacon Academy
Kelapa Gading Jakarta. The 1 st topic was
“From being stuck to making things stick:
teaching so students remember”.
They learned how emotion is a learning
process in itself and how human brain
worked to our way of thinking with ANPS
keynote speaker Dr. Ben Schmidt.
For the 2 nd session Ms. Reni continued
on individual training and learned the
strategies to teach special additional
needs students with Mr. Gareth Steed.
With Mr. Gaylord Anderson she learned
how to use mind mapping and other
strategies to enhance retention of
what has been taught.
For the last session Ms. Reni and
Ms. Mutya had sharing session on
how teachers need to build strong
relationship with students during
class meeting. It was important to
really get to know our students to
reach a successful learning process.

Ms. Darlina attended her 2nd ANPS
Teachers Conference 2019 at Beacon
Academy on Saturday, February 9.
Besides "Knowledge & Emotions" by
Ben Scmidt and "How To Include Humor
In Lesson" training, she also went on to
individual session of "Games In Reading:
A Teaser For Reading In Secondary Class"
Although it is quite challenging for
teachers to maintain and improve
motivation among Secondary Class
students, but through games and fun
activities (which are still a favorite
activity for everybody) we can get
objectives done with less work but
still learn a lot of things.
