Townships work together to repair Hiner Road

At the March 19 meeting, the Jackson
Township board of trustees announced a
cooperative agreement with Scioto
Township to make repairs to the roadway.
Township Administrator Shane
Farnsworth said Scioto Township will pay
25 percent of the total cost of the project
while Jackson Township will pick up the
rest.
“We will pay roughly $100,000 for the
work to our portion of the road,”
Farnsworth said.
According to Farnsworth, Hiner Road is
in “rough” shape and is slated to receive
repairs to the pavement, the berms and
culverts, as well as pipe replacement. He
projected that there would be road delays
and closures when the work begins this
summer, but said the township will get
together with the contractors to notify the
residents as to when the closures may
occur.
“We will make sure the community is
aware of any traffic issues,” he said.
Farnsworth also said the township will
do repair work to portions of Dyer Road,
Hyde Road and Lois Drive later this year.
“We don’t have a set date for when those
repairs will take place yet,” he said.
At the meeting, the trustees also
approved the purchase of a new medic unit.
According to Fiscal Officer Ron Grossman,
the medic will cost $304,000, which is an
increase from the last medic they purchased
in October.
“We saw the price go up by 1.4 percent
in just a few months,” he said.
The newly purchased medic, which will
be built locally by Horton, will replace the
medic at Station 203 on London-Groveport
Road. Assistant Fire Chief Shawn Quincel
said the medic that is being replaced has
roughly 206,000 miles on it. It is scheduled
to arrive in six to seven months.
The medic that was purchased in
October is supposed to be delivered to
Station 202 within the next three to four
weeks, said Fire Chief Randy Little.

Individual Tournament, held March 7-9 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. Jones
would go onto win three of his five matches. Jones and Green have trained together
in recent weeks for the post season tournaments. They have also gone head-tohead
with Jones coming out on top. They pushed the match into overtime with two
tie breakers and Jones once again coming out on top, claiming his spot on the
podium in seventh place and wrapping up the season with a record of 37-3.
Disabled American Veterans
The Disabled American Veterans
Chapter 144 in Grove City meet the third
