According to the report, Krumrie had a valid Tinley Park Police Department warrant for leaving the scene of a property damage crash. Krumrie’s vehicle was parked on the street outside of the American Legion where police entered and asked to speak with him outside. Krumrie allegedly had a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 revolver on his front wasitband in a pouch holster. According to the report, Krumrie has a valid FOID card but does not have a concealed carry license. •Person(s) unknown stole $400 worth of items from a vehicle parked in front of a residence on Queen Elizabeth Lane, according to the Tinley Park Police Department. According to the report, the woman told police that her pink set of Beats by Dre worth $200 and a silver set of Revo sunglasses worth $200 were taken from her vehicle, both of which were in the center console. April 23 •Person(s) unknown broke into a locker in the women’s locker room of Charter Fitness, located at 16010 Harlem Ave. in Tinley Park, and stolen the woman’s iPhone 7, valued at $350; her wallet, valued at $20 with credit cards and gift cards inside; and the Master Lock padlock, valued at $10, according to the Tinley Park Police Department. According to the report, the woman told police that she placed her backback and purse inside a gym locker in the women’s locker room and secured it with her Mast Lock three-digit combination padlock. The woman said that all three pouches of the purse were unzipped and open when she placed it inside the locker. According to the woman, when she returned to the locker, she observed the padlock to be missing from the locker door and saw that her iPhone and wallet were missing. The police reported stated that the woman located her iPhone at a nearby McDonald’s using the Find My iPhone app on a Charter Fitness employee’s cellphone. The woman and police went to the McDonald’s where they found it inside a garbage can. According to police, the woman received numerous fraudulent alerts from Chase for her credit card being used at Target, Walmart and Foot Locker. April 16 •Gregory Harris, 54, of the 800 block of S. Hermitage Street in Chicago, was issued citations for driving while license suspended and improper use of registration, after police conducted a random registration check on his vehicle and learned that the plate was for a 2007 BMW but the registration was on a 2002 Honda Accord, according to the Tinley Park Police Department. tinleyjunction.com news the Tinley Junction | May 9, 2019 | 11 Bettenhausen Auto to be part of summer lineup at The Bridge Teen Center Submitted by Bettenhausen Auto Each year, The Bridge Teen Center in Orland Park provides more than 350 different afterschool programs and events free of charge for thousands of local teens. This summer alone, 100 free programs will be offered, plus weekly Friday night entertainment events that feature live music, themed nights and free food from local restaurants. This summer, Tinley Park’s own Bettenhausen Auto will be a part of the nonprofit organization’s lineup of programs. The Bettenhausen team will teach students some basic summer auto maintenance, including recharging the A/C and changing the oil. For the last seven years, Bettenhausen employees have led automotive programs for teens at The Bridge. To kick-off the summer, The Bridge Teen Center will host a Community Open House and New Student Orientation on Saturday, June 1, at its facility located 15555 S. 71st Court in Orland Park. Families with teens who will be in seventh through 12th grade in the fall are welcome to attend this event. This includes those teens currently in sixth grade who will graduate this spring. The New Student Orientation will begin sharply at 10 a.m. and end at 11 a.m. New families and teens will meet Bridge staff, tour their space, and get the inside scoop, including how to sign up for the free summer programs and events. Advance sign-up is strongly recommended for the orientation, as space will fill up quickly. Families can call (708) 532-0500 or email info@thebridgete encenter.org to sign up. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the public is welcome to attend the open house and celebrate The Bridge’s 9th Anniversary. This will be the perfect opportunity to get a behind the scenes tour of The Bridge Thrift Store, and enjoy light snacks provided by Creative Cakes, Legendary Baking and more. Attendees will also get an exclusive look of upcoming summer programs. All students must be accompanied by an adult during this event, as this is not a supervised student function. New students are encouraged to complete a free Student Membership Application several days in advance to save time and avoid long lines. The application takes less than five minutes when completed online at www.thebridgeteencenter.org. Orientation guests are also asked to park in the overflow parking area behind Traverso’s Restaurant located on 71st Court and Wheeler Drive in order to save close spaces for people who are physically limited. A shuttle bus will transport guests to The Bridge’s front door. The Bridge Teen Center is a nationally-recognized nonprofit community center that is designed around the needs and interests of teens in the suburbs. The Bridge provides free holistically-designed afterschool programming and a safe environment for Friday night entertainment. To date, over 7,300 unique students from 128 different communities have been served by The Bridge.
