According to the statement from Raoul’s office, 45-year-old Tinley Park resident Ashwinkumar Patel, of AM Wine and Spirit in Calumet Park, and 50-year-old Tinley Park resident Sanjaykumar K. Soni, of KVS Calumet City Liquor Businesses, Inc. in Calumet City, were charged. Patel was charged with one count of theft of government property, one count of sales tax evasion (Class 1), nine counts of filing a fraudulent tax return and one count of wire fraud. Soni was charged with one count of theft of government property, one count of sales tax evasion (Class 1), two counts of sales tax evasion (Class 2) and 27 counts of filing fraudulent tax returns. Hicks-Lewis, 22, of Chicago, was charged with one felony count of retail theft April 27, after police responded to Target, located at 7300 191st St. in Tinley Park, in reference to a reported retail theft where Hicks-Lewis allegedly stole merchandise valued at $1,000.91, according to the Tinley Park Police Department. According to the report, two loss prevention agents observed four individuals, including Hicks-Lewis, exit the store with a shopping cart containing items that had not been purchased. The loss prevention agents stopped Hicks-Lewis pushing the cart and escorted her to the loss prevention office. Police viewed surveillance video taken inside the store that reportedly showed the four individuals placing unpaid merchandise inside of Target shopping bags at the self check out register, where they then placed the bags into a shopping cart. Hicks-Lewis was allegedly seen paying for several additional items and placing them on top of unpaid items. According to the report, the Will County Assistant State’s Attorney Office did not approve charges against the three other individuals. Heather R. Lee, 31, of the 1110 block of Daniel Trail in Mokena, was charged with retail theft April 25, after police responded to Target, located at 7300 191st St. in Tinley Park, in reference to a retail theft incident in which Lee allegedly stole $356.63 worth of merchandise, according to the Tinley Park Police Department. According to the police report, a loss prevention agent noticed Lee trying on clothes in the clearance section and observed her remove several items of clothing from the hangers on the racks. The loss prevention agent told police that she folded the items of clothing she removed from the racks and placed them in piles on the floor. The police report stated that Lee walked to the men’s section, where she placed one shirt into a black backpack she had. She then continued to put on several layers of clothing she removed from the racks. Lee then returned to the clearance section and placed several more items of clothing into a multicolored backpack and had a shopping basket with clothing items. According to the report, she walked past the last point of purchase with the shopping basket and two backpacks containing the items of clothing without paying the full retail value. Tammy Lynn Dunne, 56, of the 700 block of Harrison Avenue in Hammond, Indiana, was charged with one count felony retail theft April 24, after police were dispatched to Target, located at 7300 191st St. in Tinley Park, in reference to a retail theft with an offender in custody, according to the Tinley Park Police Department. According to the police report, two loss prevention agents observed Dunne walking around the store putting various high-priced items in her cart. She was allegedly with two other unknown females who also placed items in Dunne’s cart, as well as a separate cart that had items totalling $897.60. According to the report, Dunne had a total of $1,086.48 worth of products in her cart as she passed the last point of purchase. She was then stopped by loss prevention agents. The two other unknown females left the cart they were pushing and left the building through a different exit once Dunne was stopped. The two females were unable to be located. April 28 •Person(s) unknown stole $3,200 worth of items from a vehicle parked outside of a residence on Lake Bluff Drive in Tinley Park, according to the Tinley Park Police Department. The man told police that his wife was walking their dog in the parking lot and noticed the rear passenger side door and rear passenger side tool chest open. According to the report, the man told police that his tool chest doors were unlocked but the vehicle was locked. A Bosch hammer drill ($700), a Bauer hamemr drill ($300), laser ($2,000) and a Dewalt electric grease gun ($200) were taken from the vehicle.
