WINEormous
Continues
Providing
Temecula
WInery Tours
by Tom Plant
In 2009, at the coaxing of a dear
friend of mine, I decided to hang up my
real estate career and begin focusing on
writing about Temecula wine country. I
decided from the start that rather than
write wine reviews, I would meet with
winemakers and winery owners and tell
their stories. Later that year, I joined
the International Food Wine and Travel
Writers Association.
I named my blog WINEormous
and a year later began offering winery
tours in the Temecula Valley. I felt the
relationships I had forged with members
of Temecula’s wine community would
be of interest to those wanting to visit
this unique region.
I offer visits to three wineries,
spending up to an hour at each. I provide
my guests with a picnic lunch, consisting
of homemade (by me) sandwiches,
Cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, chips
and cookies. I love answering questions
about Temecula wine and enjoy the
opportunity to introduce my guests to
winemakers and winery owners whenever
possible. On occasion, guests are
able to taste a tank or barrel sample.
Earlier this year, Luxlife Magazine
from Great Britain honored WINEormous
with Best Customized Wine Tour
Operator – Temecula. As I was writing
this, I just received word they have
named my tours Most Unique Wine
Tour Operator 2019 – Southern California
in their Family and Visitor Attraction
award category.
I love meeting new people and
showing them around this region I
cherish. I am humbled by some of the
reviews my tours receive. “He is most
highly respected by the local wineries
which made it very nice. In fact, one
winery said he was the best guide they
work with.” “Tom was wonderful! We
thoroughly enjoyed our tasting tour with
him. He was obviously well known and
of good reputation at each winery we
visited.”
Call me at (951) 907-9701 or drop me
an email at tom@wineormous.com. I’d
love to show you around this magnificent
valley.
Professional Women’s Roundtable Announces
June Meeting
Please join us June 6th at 8-Bit
Brewery at 11:15am where we are excited
to introduce Sabine Becker, one
of our members with an incredible story
to tell. German-born Sabine is not only
a survivor of the worst pharmaceutical
disaster in history, but she is also a
stroke survivor. Due to exposure to the
drug Thalidomide, Sabine was born
with drastically abbreviated arms, and
learned to compensate by using her feet
for daily functions. After a lifetime of
inconceivable challenges, Sabine has
recognized that adversity can open a
new world of meaning and purpose.
Sabine’s story is not only about
survival and courage, but also about
resilience, perseverance and hope. Sabine
will be accompanied by a “special
guest,” her service dog Balter. Balter
was trained by Canine Companions
for Independence, and performs more
than 40 commands, assisting Sabine
throughout her days.
RSVP is a must. The cost to attend
the luncheon meeting is $20.00 for
members and $25.00 for guests. Thank
you. We meet the first Thursday of every
month. Join PWR for our monthly
lunch meeting. Registration begins at
11:15 a.m. at 8bit Brewing Company,
26755 Jefferson Ave., Ste. F / in
Murrieta. 951-677-2322 For more
