Cobblestone resident Nancy
DeVault was promoted to editor-atlarge
of AmeriDisability, an online
platform based in Central Florida
and serving audiences nationwide. In
collaboration with Publisher Sheila
Mahan, Nancy is charged with creating
new digital content, overseeing
the company’s website transition, and
aspects of strategic marketing and
social media. Prior to this role, she
worked as a contributing writer for
the publication, in addition to other
media outlets. With 20 years of communications
experience, Nancy has
held positions in radio, TV, print and
digital media. Her work spans a wide
range of topics, including charity, disability,
food, health, lifestyle, parenting,
relationships and travel. She has
also worked as a public relations consultant
for the disability, health/medical
and nonprofit sectors, where she
earned three industry awards from the
Florida Public Relations Association.

The Austin McWhite Foundation,
in association with the U.S. Army,
completed its first Stay Humble Stay
Hungry boot camp. The foundation
was established in honor of the memory
of 2nd Lt. Austin McWhite,
who was killed July 16, 2018.

Austin’s love for fitness and a healthy

than 20 years. “He exercised daily
and listened to motivational speakers
to stay focused and encouraged
as he pursued his dream
of attaining a commercial pilot’s
license.”
Along with Sha’ron; her husband,
Theo; and their daughter, Saudia
George, more than 50 family
members, friends and supporters
participated in the event. This past
Mother’s Day, Sha’ron offered her
gratitude for the support that has
been shown to her family.
“Our family has lost a beloved son,
but on this Mother’s Day, we humbly
offer heartfelt gratitude to all who
have circled the wagons around us,
the surviving family of Austin Theo
McWhite, 2nd lieutenant, United
States Army. To the first responders,
who endeavored to save my son’s
life at the crash scene; to the United
States Army, which has proven beyond
doubt ‘This We’ll Defend’; to
my immediate family; my extended
family; my friends; my coworkers;
my sorority sisters of Delta Sigma
Theta Inc.; my church family; and to
Austin’s seemingly endless community
of friends and supporters, we say
thank you.”
