The Security IT Summit follows a similar
format to the Total Security Summit, but is
aimed specifically at senior cyber security
professionals. In addition, all of the
networking, learning and business-building
activity happens in one day. It takes place on 2
July at the Hilton London Hotel, Canary Wharf.
As our VIP guest, you’ll be able to meet with
suppliers to the sector based on your specific
cyber security requirements and upcoming
projects. As is the case with the Total Security
Summit, all meetings are pre-arranged. No time
will be wasted and there’s no ‘hard sell’ at all.
Delegates can network with like-minded
peers who share similar day-to-day challenges.
Seminar sessions will be hosted throughout
the day. One of the presentations this time
around is entitled ‘Weaponising Data: The Dark
Nexus of Hacking, Leaking, Journalism and
Information Warfare’. Over the last two
decades, hacking has become a cash-cow for
organised crime operations. This hasn’t gone
unnoticed by rich and powerful forces who’ve
begun to harness hackers’ tactics in order to
fight wars, control financial markets, skew
elections and seize the news agenda.
Without understanding the hackers’
dynamics, we all risk being drawn into a world
created to serve their interests alone.
Journalist Geoff White will examine the
growth of hacking as an organised crime
machine, the emergence of hacktivism as an
information warfare tool, the use of these
tactics in the hacking of the last US Presidential
Election and the nexus of journalists,
whistleblowers, hackers and thieves actively
fostered by Dark Web technology.
previous Security IT Summits have had to say
about the event:
• “A great event. Very well organised and an
excellent venue. Well looked after throughout
the day and a good experience. Kudos to the
staff behind the scenes for putting this
together. Attendance thoroughly
recommended” (Global Switch)
• “Well organised event. Great communications
leading up to the day. Would definitely attend
again” (Catalyst Housing)
• “Works very well for all parties. There’s
enough time to cover the basics of the products
without prolonging conversations. Overall, it’s a
fast and intense, but ultimately valuable source
of vendor contact” (Nomura)
