I find the dramatic landscapes of Devon and Cornwall truly inspiring. Whether urban
social scenes, idyllic countryside or heritage landmark there are so many surprising
subjects for me to interpret. I create artworks using a variety of materials but
particularly enjoy the spontaneity
of drawing.

My work is an ongoing investigation into the human presence and how we react to each other
and the landscape that surrounds us. I enjoy experimenting in many mediums and image making
techniques whilst investigating the notion of merging abstract themes with figurative painting
in a form of stylistic pluralism. Transience is the theme of my latest body of work. I will be
finishing the large-scale mural in the hall during the open studio week, please feel free to drop
in and view it , and to ask any questions as I work. I will also be offering a 1 hour oil portrait
study in the “alla prima” style for £40. However, due to the demand last year, booking ahead
for a sitting is advisable during the 9 days.
Disabled access available. There is a step into the hall – there
will be a ramp available when required. Lots of parking
available, easy access. Toilets on site.
A390 to Gunnislake, just after the traffic lights in the village centre
turn into Calstock Road directly opposite the Cornish Arms inn,
beside the bus shelter. (Coming down the hill to the village it’s just
before the traffic lights.) The church hall is 60 yards along Calstock
Road on the right-hand side. Plenty of parking.
