For me the satisfaction just<br />

comes from how much I enjoy<br />

it every day. It is not about the<br />

photos or what other people<br />

think. It’s doing things like<br />

this talk in this hotel and just<br />

being generally happy with<br />

what I do.<br />

JR: I always get a lot of satisfaction<br />

from the Parc Ferme<br />

photos because when you<br />

look back you can really connect<br />

with the emotions you<br />

had then. You’ll be able to<br />

remember conversations you<br />

had with one person there<br />

after an amazing race. The<br />

actual riding part? I love it but<br />

it’s a job and the big benefit is<br />

winning and achieving goals.<br />

There is so much else that<br />

comes along with it that is<br />

super-cool; things like seeing<br />

my country, <strong>No</strong>rthern Ireland,<br />

really step-up and embrace<br />

me as a sporting hero and it<br />

brings communities together<br />

and gives them something to<br />

be proud of. It is always really<br />

special when young kids ask<br />

you for autographs.<br />

BW: You are someone they<br />

look up to.<br />

JR: Yeah and I know I used to<br />

be the same ten year old that<br />

was riding around and putting<br />

Carl Fogarty up there as<br />

some sort of god. You have<br />

these ten years olds now that<br />

are shaving a #65 in their<br />

head! There was a little kid<br />

in Thailand actually that had<br />

my number done like that in<br />

his hair! I always have a lot of
