Behind every extraordinary achievement, there’s always a
big dream that the individual carries with him/her over the
years. At Crawford Preparatory Fourways, we inspire our
pupils to embrace their dream goals, whether in academics,
culture or sports.
“My dream is to be a swimming instructor and realise the goals and aspirations
of other swimmers. I was introduced to swimming at a very young age and had
qualified and passionate coaches train me. Looking at Chad Le Clos, I have realised
that everything he achieved did not come overnight, but through hours of hard

“I am interested in many disciplines of sports and would love to be a sports
commentator or a sports journalist, as you get to experience more than one aspect
of a sport. Becoming a commentator or journalist, you need to have the passion and

In May, Crawford Italia
achieved a milestone in
the sporting history of the
school. The U13 Soccer
Team participated and won
their division of the annual
Night Soccer Festival, hosted
by Crawford Preparatory
Pretoria. A victory over
EduPlex in the final crowned
the Italia Team as the winners.
Crawford Italia
Chad Maroun, goalkeeper of
the U13 Team, was selected to
participate in the Gothia Youth
World Cup in Sweden during
the June holiday. He competed
as part of the Olympia
Soccer Club Team playing in
Gothenburg. He only started
playing Soccer last season and
has proved to be an excellent
keeper. Crawford Italia is truly
proud of Chad.
Crawford Preparatory La Lucia
Midori
Machada is a
Grade 4 pupil
at Crawford
Preparatory La
Lucia. She’s a
keen U10 Rugby
player and was
an integral part of the U10 Team this season. Midori
learnt to play Rugby when she still lived in Japan and
turned many heads at our rugby festivals this year when
she dived over for many tries! She’s a competent scrumhalf
not afraid of contact situations and was always
involved in play. She was the only girl who played in
the 7s Circuit which included seven schools. We are
exceptionally proud of Midori and her achievements this
year on the Rugby field!
Crawford Preparatory La Lucia Keegan is a Grade 7 pupil
at Crawford Preparatory
La Lucia. He has enjoyed
an extremely successful
year, to date, on the
sporting fields. Not only is
Keegan a committed and
dedicated sportsman but
he is exceptionally talented
at a number of codes. Keegan has been selected for
the final U13 North Durban Cricket Squad trials, he
is a member of our school Tennis team, he has been
selected for the KZN U13 Soccer Team as well as the
KZN U13A Hockey Team. We are exceptionally proud
of Keegan’s achievements and wish him the very best
for the rest of the year!
Crawford Preparatory Lonehill had a number of pupils selected for
various area and district teams for Cricket, Soccer and Hockey.
