Halswell Menzshed are keen to recycle<br />
wood that often ends up being dumped<br />
and lost forever.<br />
They urgently need someone who is<br />
keen to de-nail, saw and stack timber for<br />
projects at our shed. Some skill required<br />
for use of motorised tools. A safety<br />
conscious person is essential. If you are<br />
environmentally conscious and working<br />
with likeminded men, this is for you.<br />

MENZ SHED<br />
A bloke needs a reason to get up in the<br />
morning despite work or limitations and<br />
making something helps! Creating something<br />
is therapeutic, self-esteem building and<br />
provides assistance to others.<br />
The Halswell Menz Shed provides a<br />
nurturing, supportive and active environment<br />
to achieve this mindset. Men Sheds have<br />
been around for decades and are a globally<br />
renowned member organisation where they<br />
build friendships and explore ways to be<br />
creative for themselves and others.<br />
HELPING OTHERS<br />
We all need help sometimes. Learning new<br />
skills for the first time can be daunting.<br />
It’s even more daunting when what able<br />
-bodied people take for granted is taken away<br />
suddenly. Helping others out at the Shed is<br />
what it’s all about at the Halswell Menz Shed.<br />
A FLOOR CHAIR for a disabled primary<br />
school child is our latest effort. Integrating<br />
into the main-stream means they will be<br />
able to sit up on the mat with the rest of the<br />
kids. OR Try painting a chair without sight<br />
sometime or use a screw-driver with one<br />
hand! (Luke 4 v18-19).<br />
SHARING THEIR SKILLS<br />
There is quite a bit going on at the Halswell<br />
Shed and its all getting done well and quickly<br />
because all members are helping each other<br />
out.<br />

12.30pm.<br />
Ladies welcome Wednesday evenings ($5).<br />
All new-comers need to ask for the duty<br />
supervisor. Lunch is available from the<br />
hospital kitchen if ordered prior to 9.30am on<br />
the day.<br />
