INTERNATIONAL
DUBAI AHOY!
Tourism boards of many
foreign countries may try
their best to woo the
Indian traveller but he/
she continues to have a soft spot for
Dubai. Proof lies in the recentlyreleased
stats released by Dubai
Tourism. Between January and June
this year, 997,000 visitors (out of a
total of 8.36 million who visited the
city-emirate) were from India. Many
of the Indian visitors were entire
families, travelling from Tier-1 and
Tier-2 cities. They were drawn by
Dubai’s numerous attractions,
including malls, museums,
architecture, heritage, beaches and
parks. (SpiceJet is very well-connected
to Dubai. For more details, read the
story `SpiceJet spreads its wing
overseas’ on page 60 of this issue)
