QUICK FACTS ABOUT
THE PROGRAMME
• The selection process will be
held at the Spice Star Academy
office in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon.
• Candidates will have to
make their own travel and stay
arrangements to appear for the
selection process.
• There will be a registration fee
of Rs. 5,000 and a screening/
assessment fee of Rs. 10,000.
• Both the fees are non-refundable
since they have been meticulously
calculated, based on the resources
required for the exams and
selection process.
Type Rating training centre approved by
SpiceJet.
The SpiceJet Cadet Pilot Programme
will train the candidate in three phases
until she/he can be employed as a First
Officer with SpiceJet. But it does not end
there. SpiceJet will train not just Cadet
Pilots but will groom them to becoming
Captains in the future. The course will
mould young Cadets towards becoming
First Officers and eventually Captains.
SpiceJet has a road map in place for every
Cadet from the day of joining to his/her
release as a First Officer.
Each of the three phases of training has
been carefully thought out, with every
segment contributing towards the making
of an international class pilot. The first
phase provides the necessary training to
obtain a CPL with Single Engine (SE) and
Instrument Rating (IR). (CPL training will
be done at a training centre approved by
SpiceJet). The next one provides the Type
Rating training for qualifying on Q400 or
B737 aircraft. The last phase provides
on-the-job training for induction as a First
Officer.
Uniforms will be provided for the
entire course of the training. If selected
for the programme, the candidate will
be offered a conditional Letter of Intent
(LOI) by SpiceJet. Thereafter he/she
will enter into an agreement with the
airline as a Cadet Pilot and will be
entitled to a monthly stipend as
applicable. On obtaining a CPL issued by
DGCA India, the Cadet Pilot will be paid
an enhanced monthly stipend. Students
will fly minimum 200 hours in an actual
aircraft for CPL and for Type Rating.
They will fly around 72 hours in a full
flight simulator and about 20 hours in
the actual aircraft.
Cadets will fly Cessna 152, Cessna 172,
Cirrus SR 20 or similar aircraft
equipped with the latest avionics.
DGCA-approved SpiceJet ground
school and flight instructors manage the
entire training process. State-of-the-art
infrastructure is available for the
training. The ground training will be
provided at Spice Star Academy,
Gurgaon, a DGCA-approved training
academy with senior ground instructors
and more than 10,000 sq ft of fully-

The total cost of the programme is
Rs. 89.50 lakh including taxes.
• First Instalment: Rs. 40 lakh, to
be paid on joining the Cadet Pilot
Programme.
• Second Instalment: Rs. 25 lakh,
to be paid on the successful
completion of CPL phase (having
been issued with a CPL by DGCA)
and before commencing the Type
Rating Phase.
• Third Instalment: Rs. 24.50
lakh to be paid on successful
completion of Type Rating Phase
and before commencing P2 SLF
phase.
