(Re)découvrir la Reine Immaculée
En 2019, la course comptait 60 participants représentant 10 îles et
pays. L’implication des jeunes en reste une priorité, conformément à
la volonté des organisateurs de promouvoir un mode de vie équilibré.
“En tant que Sabéen, telle est la vision de notre île que je veux
faire découvrir,” indique Peter Johnson, Président de la Triathlon
Foundation. “La nature de Saba coule dans nos veines et cette
course met en lumière tout ce qui distingue notre Reine Immaculée.
J’invite toujours les coureurs à prendre une pause, en milieu de
parcours, pour s'imprégner des multiples nuances de vert, mais ils
sont généralement trop occupés à sauter par dessus des roches.”
"Et bien entendu, nous ne pourrions pas y arriver sans nos parrains.
Winair figure à nos côtés depuis la toute première course en tant
que sponsor et transporteur, contribuant à rendre cette course
d'autant plus exceptionnelle !" Le Triathlon de Saba a lieu en janvier
et s'intègre à un trio d'évènements dont les festivités du Saba Day en
décembre, et le Carnaval de Saba, en juillet.

Experience the Unspoiled Queen
The race in 2019 had 60 participants and 10 islands and countries
were represented. Youth involvement is always a priority, as the
race fits in with the organization’s goals of living a healthy lifestyle.
“Being from Saba, it’s the version of our island that I want people to
know,” said Peter Johnson, chairman of the Triathlon Foundation.
“Saba’s nature runs through our veins, and this race highlights
all that stands out about our Unspoiled Queen. I always tell
competitors to take a rest mid-race to take in the many shades of
green, but they’re usually too busy jumping over rocks on the run.”
“And, of course, we couldn’t do it without our supporters. Winair
has been with us from the very first race as both a sponsor and
travel provider and this race is made all the more special because
of them!” The Saba Triathlon takes place in January, and is part of
a trio of island events. The other two are the Saba Day celebrations
in December, and the Saba Carnival in July.
