Early
Learning
Your child can make a smooth transition
from playgroup, all the way through to
Year 6 graduation at St Joseph’s.
Playgroup
Playgroup is available for children 0 to
4 years of age who are not attending
Preschool. It is an opportunity for children
with their parents/caregivers to learn,
socialise and build friendships. Coming
along to playgroup supports children to
learn new skills.
Occasional
Care
We offer four sessions across the week for
children who have turned 3 years. Through
independent exploration, structured
activities and hands-on learning, children
are exposed to a variety of skills and
knowledge in literacy, numeracy, science
and social skills.
Preschool
The Preschool is an integral part of the
school. Our program for 4 year olds is
child centred with a particular emphasis
on learning through play and developing
literacy and numeracy skills.
Our Preschool aims to be a vibrant and
dynamic place of shared relationships
between children, educators and parents.
We hope to create a place of belonging in
a world that is alive, welcoming and where
authentic learning happens.
We believe children have potential, are
competent and capable of learning
individually and with others. We use the
Belonging Being and Becoming Curriculum
framework to guide our program.
Being able to progress through the stages
of education at the one school has many
advantages, including the sense of security
your daughters and sons will experience.
Preschool mid-year intake is also available
for children who turn 4 from 1st of May to
31st of October.
