>>venture>> is an initiative of the ETH Zurich, McKinsey & Company<br />
Switzerland, Knecht Holding, the innovation promotion<br />
agency Innosuisse, and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne<br />
(EPFL). >>venture>> 2019 – like previous >>venture>><br />
editions – aims to get untapped innovation potential. A number<br />
of renowned companies from Swiss industry and commerce sponsor<br />
the competition.<br />
>>venture>> prize money and requirements<br />
>>venture>> is for budding entrepreneurs in Switzerland who<br />
have innovative business ideas and plans. Participants may enter<br />
the competition as individuals or as a team.<br />
In order to participate in the business idea competition, you need<br />
to develop and submit a business idea in the form of an executive<br />
summary, which focuses on customer benefit and on the market.<br />
The total prize money is CHF 50’000. The best presentation will be<br />
awarded CHF 15’000 and the winner of the audience award (selected<br />
among the top 5 teams) will get an additional CHF 10’000.<br />

powered by McKinsey & Company to all business idea winners.<br />
If you wish to participate in the business plan competition, you<br />
need to prepare and submit your business plans. The total prize<br />
money is CHF 120’000; the best presentation will be awarded CHF<br />
60’000.<br />
Know-how: >>venture>> 2019 provides access to experienced<br />
coaches who support you in the preparation of your business idea<br />
or your business plan and in the search for suitable partners and<br />
the necessary capital. You’ll receive additional support in the form<br />
of various events, to widen your network and sharpen your business<br />
ideas. Being a participant you will also receive feedback from<br />
the team of highly qualified jurors. The more than 100 jurors belong<br />
to one of two groups: entrepreneurs, who evaluate the formal<br />
and business aspects of an idea, and investors, who evaluate<br />
its financial attractiveness.<br />

contacts to other young entrepreneurs, to venture capitalists and<br />
to senior managers from business and research.<br />
