SPS research on educ<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

innov<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

Since 2018, the A&BE Faculty has<br />

launched academic research<br />

into its educ<strong>at</strong>ional innov<strong>at</strong>ions<br />

focusing on: “Teaching design”, “Academic<br />

skills”, “Multi-, inter- and transdisciplinary<br />

educ<strong>at</strong>ion”, “Online/blended<br />

educ<strong>at</strong>ion”, and “Curriculum revision<br />

and educ<strong>at</strong>ional leadership”. SPS staff<br />

member Remon <strong>Rooij</strong> leads this Faculty-wide<br />

initi<strong>at</strong>ive. SPS contributes to all<br />

themes of this research programme with<br />

several educ<strong>at</strong>ion innov<strong>at</strong>ion projects<br />

via our strong involvement in the bachelors<br />

Bouwkunde and in (post-) masters<br />

curriculums’ MSc Urbanism, EMU (European<br />

Post-masters in Urbanism), and MSc<br />

MADE (Metropolitan Analysis, Design &<br />

Engineering in cooper<strong>at</strong>ion with the AMS<br />

Institute). SPS staff members contributed<br />

to several academic conferences<br />

with papers and workshops on teaching<br />

urbanism, and published several educ<strong>at</strong>ion-based<br />

journal articles. In 2018, SPS<br />

won an educ<strong>at</strong>ion innov<strong>at</strong>ion subsidy<br />

on “Teaching values for the Built Environment”<br />

from the <strong>TU</strong> <strong>Delft</strong> “Design for<br />

Values pl<strong>at</strong>form”. In 2019, the SPS and<br />

the Urban Studies Sections won our first<br />

NWO Comenius educ<strong>at</strong>ion innov<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

subsidy on “Integr<strong>at</strong>ing online educ<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

with on-campus classrooms”. For more<br />
