Solve your storage
problems with a versatile
shelf that creates a
display area and clears
away clutter.
T
here is never enough
shelf space in children’s
rooms, with books, toys
and lotions always in
need of storage. This
practical and cute shelf
created by BUCO couldn’t be easier,
quicker or more budget-friendly
to put together. Whether for a
kitchen, to store your spices and
condiments, for bathroom hand
towels and toiletries or a convenient
display area in your baby room, this
shelf hits the mark.
You will need
• SA pine cut to the following sizes
2 pieces cut to 125mm x 80mm x
22mm for the sides
1 base board cut to 560mm x
80mm x 22mm
1 backboard cut to 560mm x
100mm x 22mm
1 strip cut to 603mm x 22mm x
15mm (you can also use a dowel
stick for a round finish)
• Nail gun or staple gun
• Semi clout nails for attachment
• Wood glue
• Sanding block
• Crafters acrylic in a colour of
your choice - we used Mystic
How to
1. Cut the wood to size.
2. Sand it lightly with the
sanding block to ensure it is
smooth.
3. Using the wood glue,
assemble the wood to form
the shelf by attaching the sides
to the backboard. Attach the
base, and the strip in front.
Once the glue is dry, use the
nail or staple gun to bind the
shelf together.
4. Paint it in your desired colour.
5. Measure evenly spaced
locations on the backboard
where the shelf must be
screwed to the wall. Using a
drill, attach it to the wall.
