Expanded centre
A NEW health centre
for Pilar de la Horadada
was formally opened last
weekend, with the premises
built next door to the
existing facility on Calle
Vicente Blasco Ibáñez.

was needed due to the

with the new structure
consisting of a basement
area for staff facilities and
storage, whilst the ground
floor hosts an emergency
area in addition to a paediatrics
and midwives area plus
primary care provision and
three consultation rooms,
Pilar’s health councillor,
Nieves Moreno, said that
residents had to campaign for
many years for the new centre
to be built and that health
is a key priority in the area.

WORK will begin this Monday
on a long term project
to start extending Torrevieja’s
Los Locos beach.
The start of the regeneration
has been brought forward
by a few months in the wake of
last September’s storms.
The central section of the
beach will over a period of time
be eventually widened by 20
metres over the next decade.
Currently the distance in
the central section between
the promenade and the sea is
just around two metres at the
closest point.
Sand, which is of thicker
density and more capable of
less erosion due to storms, will
be brought in from a Murcia
region quarry.
