Hello, we are the
Ticino mobility
Although Ticino is small, it needs an extensive transport network to
access the various town and cities as well as the more remote.
We hear all about it from people who use it daily.
A TRAIN THROUGH
THE CLOUDS
Marco:
CSG Swiss Rail Park
“I didn't know anything
about trains. I was a lawyer,
then a pilot, before one day
becoming chairman of the
Club del San Gottardo.”
Marco Morisoli didn't
cultivate his love of period
trains by playing with them
as a child, but by absorbing
the love emanating from
those who have fixed them
for a lifetime. This energy
is apparent at the Swiss
Rail Park in Biasca. This is
where events are organised
and historic trains travel
along the Saint Gotthard
mountain line, following the
tracks of locomotives that
have gone down in history.
MOUNTAIN CLIMBING
Antje:
San Salvatore Cableway
Climb up high to look into
the distance and dream.
The mountains are an
excellent place for thinking
big and isn't it even better
if you can access them via a
lift? In Ticino you can climb
San Salvatore, Lugano's
“Sugarloaf”, or climb aboard
the Ritom funicular railway,
which is one of the steepest
in the world. Others
take the Cardada cableway
designed by Mario Botta. It
always feels like flying and
makes the mountains even
more fascinating.
HELM HARD
TO STARBOARD!
Davide:
Società Navigazione
Lago di Lugano
The view from the water
is completely different.
It's like looking at what's
around you for the first
time and discovering new
hidden corners. Lake Maggiore
and Lake Ceresio are
very different: you need to
discover both of them with
their grottos, the Brissago
Islands and gastronomy
offer. All aboard!
