honours at the Christchurch
Metro Cricket Association youth
awards for the 2019/2020 season
at St Andrew’s College last week.
St Andrew’s players dominated
the 1 st XI individual awards with
Canterbury under-19 and New
Zealand under-19 batsman Rhys
Mariu picking up the top batsman
and Jordy Frew earning top
bowler.
Lachie Harper from Christ’s
College was the top all-rounder.
In the year 9 grade individual
awards went to Ben Trillo (St
Bede’s), Will Coombes (St
Bede’s) and Lewis Whiteside (St
Andrew’s).

tennis tournament at Wilding

year 11 girls and boys singles.

It was then the turn of Alkmini

the year 11 girls final beating

School’s Natalie Hetherington

Christ’s College’s Liam Adams
won the year 12 and 13 boys
singles title by beating fellow
Christ College teammate Nant
Prachuabmog 6-1, 6-1.
Rangi Ruru’s Jade Feneon
came from a set down to beat St
Andrews College’s Farrah Richards
in the year 12 and 13 girls
final 5-7, 6-1, 11-9.
