Academic Hall of Fame<br />
The London Academic Boosters is seeking<br />
nominations for individuals to be considered<br />
for induction into the London<br />
Academic Hall of Fame.<br />
The purpose of the Academic Hall of<br />
Fame is to recognize individuals who have<br />
made an important, positive impact on the<br />
school, local community or global community.<br />
The individual must have attended a<br />
school in the London City School District,<br />
been employed by the school district,<br />
worked as a volunteer in the school district,<br />
or in some other direct way made a significant<br />
contribution to the academic success of<br />
the schools in the district or other educational<br />
institutions.<br />
Nominations for the Academic Hall of<br />
Fame may be made by anyone connected to<br />
the London community. Nomination applications<br />
are available at the London High<br />
School office and at London Public Library.<br />
Applications must be turned in to the high<br />
school principal’s office by March 15.<br />

band for three years and concert band for<br />
two years. He has been on the Quick Recall<br />
team for three years and helped lead the<br />
team to a league championship this year. He<br />
has been involved in NTHS, show choir, Key<br />
Club, and is a basketball cheerleader. He is<br />
a four-year member and national vice president<br />
of Business Professionals of America.<br />
When asked to name a school staff member<br />
who inspires him, Goodman named<br />
University and study management and<br />
strategic leadership. He is the son of Jennifer<br />
Goodman.<br />

Rotary International, a volunteer organization<br />
of 1.2 million business and professional<br />
leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian<br />
service and help build good will and<br />

Zadien Gattison<br />
The London Rotary<br />
Club is pleased to honor<br />
senior Zadien Gattison as<br />
London High School’s<br />
<strong>February</strong> Student of the<br />
Month.<br />
Students of the month<br />
are selected by school administrators<br />
based on<br />
their academic and extracurricular<br />
achievement<br />
and positive character.<br />
Gattison has a 4.125<br />
grade point average and<br />
is ranked 11th in her<br />
class. Her favorite subject<br />
is Spanish. She is a twoyear<br />
member of the National Honor Society<br />
and a four-year member of student council.<br />
She has served as vice president for both<br />
groups.<br />
Gattison is a four-year member of Quick<br />
Recall and a three-year member of Teen<br />
Leaders of London, a youth-led prevention<br />
group. She has been in the cast of three musicals<br />
during high school. Additionally, she<br />
is the co-founder of Generation Green and a<br />
five-year member of the marching band,<br />
serving as a trombone section leader for two<br />
years.<br />
When asked to name a school staff member<br />
who inspires her, Gattison named Angela<br />
Hill, a secretary at the high school.<br />
“Mrs. Hill is an inspiration to me because<br />
she can deal with kids very well, and she always<br />
greets you with a<br />
smile,” she said.<br />
About Gattison, Hill<br />
commented, “I have had<br />
the pleasure of knowing<br />
Zadien since she was a<br />
young, smiling thirdgrader<br />
at London Elementary.<br />
Her true zest<br />
for life and her endearing<br />
and enthusiastic personality<br />
naturally draw people<br />
to her. She exudes a<br />
quiet confidence that is<br />
truly admirable. Zadien’s<br />
contagious laugh and<br />
genuine (and sometimes<br />
ornery) spirit make me smile.<br />
“I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity<br />
to watch her grow and mature<br />
into the vibrant young woman she is today.<br />
She is so incredibly deserving of this honor,<br />
and I am truly humbled and honored to<br />
have been chosen by her.”<br />
After graduation, Gattison will attend<br />
The Ohio State University to pursue a degree<br />
in business. She is the daughter of<br />
John and Nichole Flynn of London.<br />
