Quand y aller? / When to go?
Avec une température moyenne de 23°C, on y
enregistre d’importantes précipitations sur une
certaine période de l’année. La meilleure période
pour s’y rendre s’étend de juin à novembre, saison
où les orchidées et autres espèces végétales rares
connaissent leur floraison.
With an average temperature of 23°C, there is a lot
of rainfall over a certain period of the year. The best
time to go is from June to November, the season when
orchids and other rare plant species are in bloom.

Farafangana est située à 106km de Manakara.
Depuis Antananarivo, il faut compter 18 heures de
voyage pour l’atteindre en empruntant la RN7 puis
la RN25. Une autre option est de prendre un vol de
la Compagnie Air Madagascar pour Fort-Dauphin et
ensuite de rejoindre Farafangana en véhicule toutterrain.
Farafangana is located 106km from Manakara. Driving
from Antananarivo, it takes 18 hours to reach by
taking the RN7 and then the RN25. Another option is
to take an Air Madagascar flight to Fort-Dauphin and
drive to Farafangana by all-terrain vehicle.

Vous pouvez réserver à l’Hôtel « Cocotiers » ou à
« L’Austral Hotel » ou encore au « Leong Hotel », des
établissements situés dans le centre-ville.
You can book at the Cocotiers Hotel, the Austral Hotel
or the Leong Hotel, all of which are located in the city
centre.

Les crustacés de Farafangana sont parmi les meilleurs
de Madagascar. Essayez le restaurant «Concombre
masqué» connu pour sa cuisine typiquement malgache
ou bien commandez au restaurant de votre hôtel. Un
panier pique-nique peut être également une bonne idée.
The shellfish of Farafangana are among the best of
Madagascar. Try the restaurant Concombre masqué
(Masked Cucumber) known for its typical Malagasy
cuisine or order at the restaurant of your hotel. A picnic
basket may also be a good idea.
Que voir? / What to see?
Afin que votre dépaysement soit total, faites une
descente en pirogue le long des rivières Takoandro et
Manatsimbea pour observer les crocodiles. Visitez la
chute de Rianambo puis prévoyez une excursion sur
le Canal des Pangalanes. A Farafangana, il y a aussi
la possibilité d’observer des tortues de mer et des
baleines.
For a complete change of scenery, take a canoe trip
down the Takoandro and Manatsimbea rivers to
observe the crocodiles. Visit the Rianambo waterfall
and then plan an excursion on the Pangalanes Canal.
In Farafangana, there is also the chance to observe sea
turtles and whales.
