Tessa wasthe recipient of the British BreedingUnsung Hero Award at the CelebrationBall in November, and then added theStallionAI Meritoire LifetimeAchievement award, presented atthe British Horse Foundation Dinnerin London in January. This month’sveterinary feature comes courtesyof Dr. Kaatje Ducheyne, PhD, MVSc,DipECAR, MRCVS, of Sussex EquineHospital, who discusses the benefits ofovum pick up.We have our regular studbook newsand reports from the disciplines plus aphoto gallery from our inauguralCelebration Ball in November wherethe achievements of FuturityChampions were celebrated.Plans are well underway for our seriesof events for 2020 with an excitingline up of international judges,including the highly respectedHans-Heinrich Brüning, for the FuturityEvaluation series, plus the return of3-5 year old evaluations to providea qualification opportunity for theEquine Bridge. The Bridge itself willreturn in October and the muchapplauded Celebration Ball is to berepeated in November. There areexciting plans for the British BreedingMembers Club, which will host a numberof events including the inauguralBritish Breeding Lecture & Symposium.More to come on this in the next issue.In this Olympic year, we are lookingforward to reporting on more Britishbred success at every level.
