Praise God that all went well with this conference! It can never be done without His provision and providence. ICM Malaysia would like to thank all the participants for coming along to learn more and get equipped in their own ministries; to all speakers for giving us the insights and encouragement to the people; not forgetting all the sponsors, supporters and intercessors for making this conference a success. God bless you abundantly. ICM Malaysia held a conference a few years ago, but this time around seeing the need among the Bahasa speaking churches, we came to agreement to have one with the theme based on 1 Corinthians 4:15, “Even though you have ten thousands guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.” To speak on “Father’s Heart”, we had invited Ps Jaap Dieleman from the Netherlands as the theme speaker, along with Bro Khoo Hin Hiong and Dr Wong Hong Meng who spoke on “Team Building” and “Managing Church Finances” respectively. A total of 117 people from 36 churches and organisations, and different backgrounds, came from all over Malaysia at Peacehaven to listen to the Father’s Heart. They are the people involved in Bahasa ministries among the natives, A moment of reaching to God and everyone is being prayed for on the last day Ps Alfred Tais 10 Volume 2 · Issue 31 · May - December 2010 especially the Orang Aslis, and Bumiputras from Sabah & Sarawak. Among them are Ps Pakpahan and his friends from Sumatra, Indonesia. On the first night, Bro Edwin opened the conference with a sharing of the work of ICM and that through the ministry of ICM, hundreds of churches had been planted by ordinary people via networking with their churches. He also challenged the pastors not to see the incapabilities of their members but to disciple and send them out, like Jesus did. Bro Edwin then closed the night with a prayer that all would have the Father’s Heart in these last days. After a time of praise and worship and breakfast, the second day session started off with Dr Wong Hong Meng, speaking on “Managing Church Finances”. He made it clear that the finances for ministry and church is a separate entity from personal and family finances, regardless the size of ministry and church and whether it’s an individual ministry. In the afternoon, Bro Khoo took over with a brief sharing on the relationship between a father and a son. He shared that a leader is unable to love the sheep under his guard without first understanding and experiencing the Father’s Love personally. At night, Bro Khoo got the people to visualize the importance of teamwork in the work of God’s Kingdom. He stressed that each team member has a role to play in order to have multiplication. On the third and the fourth day, Ps Jaap Dieleman journeyed together with the people through the theme. He highlighted the differences between a Father and a King, and between Real Apostle and False Apostle. He mentioned the need to forgive those who had misled us in wrong doctrines. Throughout his sessions, he shared about the burden to father the fatherless. A workshop was also held to discuss about the challenges the church of Malaysia is facing currently. Ps Alfred Tais from National Evangelical <strong>Christian</strong> Fellowship (NECF) was invited to share on current issues and to encourage the pastors and leaders who minister among Bahasa speaking people. A panel consisting Ps Alfred, Bro Edwin and Bro Jimmy was formed to give feedback and answer questions on the issues discussed. Besides the sessions, there were time for games too. Badminton, table tennis and “takraw” (rattan ball) were The panelists giving feedback “What can we do for the Church?” 1 Dancing to the Lord… among the games we enjoyed together. Throughout the conference, many testimonies were heard on how ICM Bible School In A Briefcase (BSIB) had blessed individuals and churches. The conference ended with Holy Communion and prayer of impartation. In this conference, we shared much laughter and tears, sang and danced together, encouraging each other with our own experiences and testimonies. It was truly a time which many, if not all, will remember for the rest of our life.
