3.4 <strong>Film</strong> activities<br />
<strong>Film</strong> activities will include the following interrelated activities:<br />
■ Collections (film, television, moving image and related materials)<br />
■ Distribution<br />
■ Education<br />
■ Exhibition (theatrical and non-theatrical)<br />
■ Locations<br />
■ Production<br />
■ Training.<br />
Training activities will be considered in association with Skillset and if appropriate<br />
other National Training Organisations.<br />
NB. The programme will not seek to cover those areas of moving image practice<br />
that remain the primary responsibility of the ACE, ie artists’ film and video,<br />
arts broadcasting and the creative use of digital technologies by artists.<br />
4. Personnel<br />
4.1 The exercise will be the direct responsibility of the <strong>FILM</strong> COUNCIL’s Chief<br />
Executive Officer, John Woodward. The <strong>FILM</strong> COUNCIL’s operations team will be<br />
headed by Carol Comley and Terri Jones. Other <strong>FILM</strong> COUNCIL staff will<br />
contribute on an as needed basis including the Regional Commissioning<br />
Executive.<br />
4.2 Key personnel from other organisations will include:<br />
■ ACE, Kim Evans and David Curtis<br />
■ bfi, Jon Teckman<br />
■ DCMS, Vanessa Brand (Regions), Alan Sutherland (Media), William Nye (Arts)<br />
■ ERAB, Howard Rifkin<br />
■ Skillset, Dinah Caine.<br />
The role of key personnel will be to offer specialist advice to the <strong>FILM</strong> COUNCIL’s<br />
operations team throughout the exercise and to provide comment on the draft<br />
strategy proposals prior to formal consideration by the <strong>FILM</strong> COUNCIL’s board.<br />
