Erneuerbare Alternativen zu konventionellem
Kerosin rücken zunehmend in den Fokus der
Luftfahrt. In diesem vielfältigen Themenfeld
konzentriert sich der Forschungsschwerpunkt
„Alternative Kraftstoffe“ am Bauhaus Luftfahrt
auf folgende zentrale Fragestellungen: In
welchen Mengen können erneuerbare Kraftstoffe
in Zukunft produziert werden? Welche
technischen Produktionspfade stehen für eine
langfristige Versorgung zur Verfügung? Wie
sind diese Pfade im Hinblick auf ihre technischen,
ökologischen und sozioökonomischen
Potenziale zu bewerten? Und wie lassen sich
die benötigten Mengen nachhaltiger Kraftstoffe
in den Markt einführen? Langfristige,
bislang weniger entwickelte Optionen spielen
in den Betrachtungen eine besondere Rolle.
Die Produktion fortgeschrittener Biokraftstoffe
aus Abfall- und Reststoffen oder nichtbiogene
Prozesse, wie solare Kraftstoffe und
strombasierte Kraftstoffe (StL, PtL, H 2 ), stellen
hierzu wichtige Forschungsansätze dar.
Renewable alternatives to conventional
jet fuel have moved into the focus of
interest of the aviation industry. In this
diverse thematic field, the research focus
area “Alternative Fuels” at Bauhaus
Luftfahrt addresses the following key
questions: Which quantities of renewable
fuel can be produced in the future?
Which technical production pathways
are available for a long-term supply of
renewable fuels? How do these pathways
perform with respect to technical, environmental,
and socioeconomic criteria?
And what are appropriate measures
to introduce the required volumes of
sustainable jet fuel into the market? Less
mature technology options with promising
long-term potentials are of particular
interest for the work at Bauhaus Luftfahrt.
The production of advanced biofuels
from residues and waste streams or
non-biogenic approaches, such as solar
fuels and power-derived fuels (StL, PtL,
H 2 ), represent important research topics
in this context.
