Form 19, Section 169, Resource Management Act 1991<br />
<strong>Selwyn</strong> District Council has issued a requirement for a new designation.<br />
The Council is seeking to designate approximately 22 ha of land plus a portion of Upper<br />
Dawsons Creek that extends into the site (approximately 4,300m²) for a new recreation reserve<br />
in Prebbleton.<br />
The site to be designated is located at 27 Hamptons Road, Prebbleton. The legal descriptions<br />
of the land affected by the designation are Lot 2 DP 365486 and Rural Section 39793. The<br />
land is owned by <strong>Selwyn</strong> District Council.<br />
The Notice of Requirement may be inspected during opening hours at any of the Council’s<br />
service centres or libraries or is available to view electronically on the Council’s website.<br />
Submissions<br />
Any person or organisation may make a submission to the <strong>Selwyn</strong> District Council supporting<br />
or opposing the designation. Submissions must be in writing and in accordance with Form 21<br />
of the Resource Management Regulations, which is available from any Council service centre<br />
or on the website. Submissions may be:<br />

At a later date, all submissions received will be reviewed, a hearing may be set to hear evidence<br />
and submissions and the Council will make a decision on whether to confirm, modify or, impose<br />
conditions on the requirement or to withdraw the requirement. If submitters are not satisfied<br />
with the decision they may then appeal to the Environment Court.<br />

PRIVATE PLAN CHANGE 63<br />
Merf Ag Services Ltd and Matthew Reed have lodged a private plan change request with<br />
the Council.<br />
<strong>Selwyn</strong> District Council<br />
Clause 5 of the First Schedule, Resource Management Act 1991<br />
Plan change 63 (PC63) proposes to change the <strong>Selwyn</strong> District Plan to rezone approximately<br />
60 hectares from Rural Outer Plains to Living 1 (14.6 ha.) and Living 1 Deferred (46 ha.) on<br />
the North Eastern side of Darfield along Kimberley Road.<br />
PC63 proposes amendments to the <strong>Selwyn</strong> District Plan that include:<br />
· amending the District Planning Maps to rezone the subject land from Rural Zone – Outer<br />
Plains to a mix of Living 1, and Living 1 Deferred.<br />
· incorporating an outline development plan to coordinate and guide the future development<br />
of the site.<br />
· provision for a retirement village with a capacity of approximately 110 residents.<br />
The plan change request and the assessment of why it is needed can be read at Council’s<br />
Rolleston Headquarters and can be viewed online at service centres and public libraries in<br />
Darfield, Leeston, Lincoln and Rolleston or at www.selwyn.govt.nz.<br />
Submissions<br />
Any person or organisation may make a submission supporting or opposing any aspect<br />
of this plan change. Submissions must be written and in accordance with Form 5 of the<br />
Resource Management Regulations and is available from any Council Service Centre or on<br />
the website.<br />

At a later date, all submissions received will be summarised and published. Further<br />
Submissions will then be invited, allowing certain persons and organisations to support or<br />
oppose any of the initial submissions. A Council hearing will then be arranged to consider<br />
all submissions, after which the Council will decide whether to reject or approve the plan<br />
change. Any submitter who is not satisfied with the Council’s decision may then appeal to<br />
the Environment Court.<br />
