It wasindeed a delight to have a chat with her anddiscovering the exciting side of her life story.Lisa arrived in the United States when shewas only about 10 years of age, like anytraditional African or Caribbean parent, theyalready have determined what your futurewill look like…Lawyer, Doctor or Engineer..pick one!!! Surprisingly, Lisa had her heartset on being a doctor " Going through school,it was weird because I was the nerd but I wasthe jock, and I was also the class clown.” Lisa’spersonality stood out and made herunforgettable wherever she went.Though being gifted intellectually, she wasan athlete that excelled in track, basketball,and volleyball. The latter landed her ascholarship to play in college, unfortunatelydue to her tearing her ACL and shattering hermeniscus, her scholarship was on the line. “.It's interesting though, God never does thingswithout a reason.” When one door closes abetter one opens.Though she has been writing at a very youngage, She found her love for the arts throughpoetry, she would consequently sit atnumerous studio sessions where she fell inlove with music and decided she wouldpursue this field to become a songwriter. Theminute she decided to pursue music, thoughshe was received with a little resistance whenshe broke the news to her family, she felt itwas the best decision she could have evertaken.
