Maybe I’ll tell the story about one of my most
loved one this year . It was a project for a
water park zone in one of the largest
amusement parks in Europe and quite a
difficult technical task, because the client
wanted split water pictures.
On the pre-production stage everything that
could go wrong went wrong. We were
awaiting our models from abroad and there
was the risk that the flight would be canceled
because of COVID restrictions. Shooting
time was limited to one and a half hours -
we needed to finish before the opening of
the park. Who has organized photo sessions
will understand how long it takes to arrange
the equipment on location and then pose the
models, especially when You work with child
models. The day before shooting the weather
forecast changed every few minutes, a
thunderstorm went around. In this stressful
situation, 15 hours before the session a
catastrophe happened - the underwater
camera case was completely destroyed
during a test dive. It was Sunday, all stores,
malls and any places to buy or rent new
equipment were closed. So my assistant and
I were crafting a substitute of things found
at home until midnight. And cherry on top
- on the road to the shooting location my car
refused to start…

But the session itself was quiet, calm and
harmonious like in a home studio. There was
a great team, when in an hour and a half we
did not exchange even ten words, everyone
knew his place and what to do. The result
was even better than expected.
If a young photographer wants to
follow your footsteps what advice
would you have for them?
Treat your work with a sense of humor.
Remember that any profession has its hard
days, and more or less pleasant people.
Moreover, learn every day, not only
photography but also other seemingly
unnecessary things that affect your vision of
the world.
