MARDI GRAS DESCOLORIDO POR LA PANDEMIA•
MARDI GRAS DISCOLORED BY THE PANDEMIC
Una temporada de Carnaval diferente
a cualquier otra como consecuencia
de la pandemia de coronavirus,
comienza hoy en las otrora
alegres y coloridas calles de Nueva
Orleans, Luisiana, esta vez sin bailes
y desfiles en las estrechas calles
del Barrio Francés, que suelen
atraer miles de turistas cada año
La temporada de Mardi Gras siempre
comienza el 6 de enero y termina
el denominado "martes gordo",
que este año cae el 16 de febrero
La temporada suele estar marcada
por bailes extravagantes y desfiles
donde los jinetes disfrazados arrojan
collares y baratijas a las multitudes
de personas que se apiñan
a lo largo de las calles, bebiendo y
cantando
Sin embargo, este año el coronavirus
acabó con ese evento, considerado
uno de los principales ingresos
económicos para la ciudad,
por la cantidad de visitantes que
convoca cada año
Sin desfiles ni cánticos, la imaginación
de los locales no les impidió
buscar una forma de celebración y
de generar ingresos
De alguna manera había que encontrar
una forma socialmente distante
de celebrar
Y así fue que el Krewe de Jeanne
d'Arc, un club que anualmente
rinde homenaje al héroe francés
caído con un desfile por el Barrio
Francés en el inicio oficial de la
temporada de Carnaval, este año
decidiera organizar un "Tableaux
de Jeanne d'Arc"
Allí los espectadores pasarán por
varios "tableaux", un término francés
para "imágenes vivientes", que
incluirá estaciones de juerguistas
disfrazados que pelean como caballeros,
afilando sus espadas, y
asando un cerdo para celebrar
"La vida como estábamos acostumbrados
se ha ido, así que tuvimos
que buscar diferentes formas
de hacer las cosas este año", dijo
Antoinette de Alteriis, una de las
capitanes del club
El "Phunny Phorty Phellows", un
grupo que generalmente se reúne
el 6 de enero para marcar el inicio
de la temporada con una fiesta de
disfraces en un tranvía, también
está alterando sus planes

Jerusalén, 14 ene (EFE).- La visita
del primer ministro israelí, Benjamín
Netanyahu, ayer a un centro de vacunación
de Nazaret, ciudad de mayoría
árabe del norte de Israel, se saldó con
una veintena de detenidos por la Policía
en una protesta contra el primer
ministro donde los agentes emplearon
"violencia extrema", denunció hoy la
ONG israelí Adalah.
"Durante la manifestación ayer en Nazaret
contra la visita" de Netanyahu,
"las fuerzas policiales israelíes arrestaron
a 19 ciudadanos palestinos de
Israel" y "obstaculizaron la evacuación
de dos heridos que requerían atención
médica urgente", añadió.
Según concretó, estos eran un joven
que sufrió "una fractura en el cráneo"
y otro con "una grave herida en la pierna".
Según medios, que citaron a fuentes
policiales, los choques con los manifestantes
-varias decenas- se produjeron
después de que estos intentaran
impedir a los agentes colocar vallas de
separación antes de la llegada del jefe
de Gobierno.
La visita de ayer fue la tercera en dos
semanas a una ciudad árabe-israelí, lo
que según analistas denota su interés
para acercarse a este público. Además,
su partido, el derechista Likud,
busca figuras de ciudadanos árabes
con peso en la comunidad para integrar
en su lista electoral.
Analistas señalan que este partido busca
obtener rédito político de la veloz
campaña de vacunación contra el coronavirus,

SHELL SE SUMA COMO SOCIO A YPF Y EQUINOR PARA EXPLORACIÓN EN EL MAR ARGENTINO/
SHELL JOINS YPF AND EQUINOR AS PARTNER FOR EXPLORATION IN THE ARGENTINEAN SEA
Buenos Aires, 14 ene (EFE).- La
petrolera anglo-holandesa Shell se
suma como socia de la argentina
YPF y la noruega Equinor para la
exploración offshore del área CAN-
100, ubicada en la cuenca norte del
espacio marítimo argentino, comunicaron
este jueves fuentes empresariales.
"Equinor e YPF suscribieron hoy un
acuerdo con Shell para la cesión
conjunta de participaciones no operadas
del 30% en el bloque CAN
100, ubicado en la Cuenca del Norte
Argentino, en el offshore de Argentina",
según comunicó Equinor.
El CEO de YPF, Sergio Affronti; la
presidenta de Equinor Argentina,
Nidia Álvarez, y el presidente de
Shell Argentina, Sean Rooney, firmaron
hoy el acuerdo preliminar
para el ingreso de Shell como socio
en el bloque CAN-100, según comunicó
YPF, la empresa controlada por
el Estado argentino.
Con base al acuerdo, Equinor, que
permanecerá como operador del
área, e YPF, se dividirán en partes
iguales el 70% del bloque y Shell ingresará
con el 30% restante.
La operación aún se encuentra sujeta
a la aprobación de la autoridad
regulatoria.
En octubre de 2019, Equinor firmó
un convenio para la exploración
offshore con YPF del bloque CAN-
100 y acordó hacerse cargo de la
operación, donde ambas empresas
poseían el 50% del capital social en
la licencia. Después de esta transacción,
Equinor e YPF poseerán el 35%
cada uno.
"Para YPF la firma de este acuerdo
es un nuevo paso en el fortalecimiento
y expansión de la relación
con estas dos grandes compañías
energéticas. Estamos muy entusiasmados
de poder aportarle al país el
conocimiento y la experiencia que
Equinor y Shell tienen en el desarrollo
de proyectos offshore en el
mundo", afirmó Affronti en el comunicado.
El bloque CAN-100 comprende un
área de 15.000 kilómetros cuadrados
y es el bloque más grande de la
Cuenca Norte del Mar Argentino.

asociadas en el bloque no convencional
de Bandurria Sur, bloque
que se encuentra ubicado en la
zona núcleo de Vaca Muerta.

which will remain as operator of
the area, and YPF, will be divided

block of Bandurria Sur, which is
located in the core zone of Vaca
Muerta.

en persona y gratuitos
para los padres de JPS en
un entorno socialmente
distante en inglés y español.
Estos talleres de informática
y tecnología capacitarán a
los padres en habilidades
informáticas básicas para
ayudar a sus hijos a participar
en el aprendizaje virtual
y en persona. El distrito
proporcionará computadoras
para su uso durante las

is pleased to offer free inperson
Parent Computer
Skills Workshops for JPS
parents in a socially distant
environment in English and
Spanish. These computer
and technology workshops
will train parents in basic
computer skills to help their
children participate in virtual
and in-person learning.
The district will provide
computers for use during the
training sessions.
These
workshops
complement the resources
and support available in the
Family Resource Center for
online learning and through
our technology assistance
service for parents and
students.

CURRY DE LENTEJAS/
LENTIL CURRY

1 bote de lentejas cocidas en conserva, 1 diente de
ajo, 1 cebolla,1/5 coliflor, 1 patata grande,1 dl de
salsa de tomate frito,1 dl de caldo de verduras, 1 dl
de leche de coco, cilantro, 1 pimiento rojo, 1 pimiento
verde, 200 g de calabaza, curry en polvo, aceite de
oliva, 1 guindilla y sal.
1 pot of canned cooked lentils, 1 clove of garlic, 1
onion, 1/5 cauliflower, 1 large potato, 1 dl of fried
tomato sauce, 1 dl of vegetable broth, 1 dl of coconut
milk, cilantro, 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper, 200 g of
pumpkin, curry powder, olive oil, 1 chilli and salt.
Paso a paso
Pela y corta en trozos grandes la patata.
Pela y pica el ajo y la cebolla. Limpia y
pica los pimientos. Corta la guindilla en
aros. Pela y corta en dados la calabaza.
Desgrana la coliflor en ramilletes.
Pon una cazuela al fuego con un buen
chorro de aceite y toda la verdura
cortada, incluidas las patatas. Rehoga
hasta que se poche.
Sala y añade una cucharada de curry,
el caldo de verduras y la salsa de
tomate. Incorpora las lentejas lavadas y
escurridas. Deja al fuego cinco minutos
y añade la leche de coco a las lentejas.
Sirve con un poco de cilantro fresco
(opcional).
Step by Step
Peel and coarsely chop the potato. Peel
and mince the garlic and onion. Clean
and chop the peppers. Cut the chilli
into rings. Peel and dice the pumpkin.
Shelling the cauliflower into florets.
Put a saucepan on the fire with a good
jet of oil and all the cut vegetables,
including the potatoes. Sauté unl
poached.
Salt and add a tablespoon of curry, the
vegetable broth, and the tomato sauce.
Add the washed and drained lenls.
Leave on the fire for five minutes and
add the coconut milk to the lenls. Serve
with some fresh cilantro (oponal).
