CLASSROOM DEVICES All classrooms will be equipped with Zoom-capable video equipment, so that students may participate in live class sessions from home when needed. ASSESSMENTS CPS will be closely monitoring student learning this coming year to determine if there were any gaps due in the recent school interruptions and changes in learning models amidst the COVID – 19 pandemic. CPS will strive to ensure core skills, concepts, and curriculum goals are met regardless of the leaning model we adopt. HEALTH & SAFETY STARTING OFF SAFELY To open the school safely, CPS has established the following key risk mitigation measures: MOLECULAR TEST • All employees will take a COVID-19 molecular test before returning to campus for the new school year. HEALTH INVENTORY QUESTIONNAIRE • All employees and students will submit a Health Inventory Questionnaire prior to the first day of school with the following questions: 1. Have you had no fever for at least three days without taking medication to reduce fever? 2. Have you had any of these symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, shaking chills, repeated tremors with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, the recent loss of sense of smell or taste? 3. If you had any of these symptoms, have at least ten days passed since symptoms began? 4. Have you recently been in close contact with anyone who has exhibited any of these symptoms or who has tested positive for COVID-19? 5. Have you or a house member recently traveled outside of Puerto Rico in the last 14 days? • The Health Inventory will need to be updated by parents at set times during the year. 10
SAFE-AT-SCHOOL TRAINING • Faculty, staff and students will receive “Safe at School” training. This training will be conducted by licensed health professionals. During this time, we will emphatically communicate to all our faculty, staff and student body our established procedures/protocols and our expectations designed to promote health and safety on campus. Students will receive this orientation on the first few days of classes. Teachers will have already received the training and will be able to orientate students on these procedures. The training will include, but will not be limited to: - Arrival and dismissal procedures - Traffic flow throughout the buildings - Use of materials - Lunch and snack routines - Recess and outdoor break times - Healthy hygiene practices - CPS expectations from faculty, staff, students and parents ADAPTATIONS TO CAMPUS To support physical distancing, CPS is making adaptations to campus which include (and are not limited to) establishing directional traffic patterns into, out of and throughout all campus buildings; spacing of desks in classrooms, use of acrylic partitions in desks and tables, and restricting gathering sizes and occupancy in meeting spaces and other common places. Signs will be posted in highly visible locations that promote everyday protective measures and describe how to reduce the spread of germs. SUPPLIES INVENTORY / CLEANING & DISINFECTING Adequate supplies are going to be available to support healthy hygiene practices, and to routinely clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched. CPS has engaged a professional company which will thoroughly clean and disinfect the campuses prior to reopening. After that, we have developed a schedule for increased routine cleaning and disinfection. At the end of the day, with the campuses already emptied, our maintenance staff will do a thorough cleaning of the entire school. OSHA AUTO CERTIFICATION In compliance with Section 18 of OE-2020-038 issued by the Department of Labor, CPS has submitted the required auto-certification which states that we will develop a Plan of Risk Management before resuming operations. OSHA establishes a hierarchy for the control of risks in the workplace and each employer is responsible for conducting risk assessments at their workplace to establish appropriate risk control. 11
