CAMPUS ENTRY/DROP-OFF PROTOCOL PARKVILLE CAMPUS • All students must arrive by car using the roundabout in the established one-way direction and will have their temperature checked prior to exiting their vehicle. • Only faculty, staff, vendors already certified in reopening, or those with an appointment are allowed to enter the school on foot through the main gate. • CHS students arriving by bus at the end of the school day will enter through the main gate, temperature will be taken and hand sanitizer provided prior to gaining access to campus. • Parents of students are not allowed on campus beyond the drop-off/pick-up circle and should not enter the school. PKS personnel will take the student to their respective classroom using the designed directions (hallways and staircases). COMMONWEALTH CAMPUS • Students taking the bus from PKS to CHS will have temperatures taken prior to boarding and again when arriving to CHS. • Students in grades 7-10, or arriving by bus, will enter via the side cafeteria gate, where there will be a sanitation station. Temperature will be taken prior to gaining access to campus. • Students in grades 11-12 will enter via the main gate, where there will be another sanitation station. Temperature will be taken prior to gaining access to campus. Drop Off/ Pick-Up Location: Grades PK- 6 th Grades 7-10 Grades 11-12 Parkville Center Court Roundabout Commonwealth Side Cafeteria Gate Commonwealth Main Gate APPOINTMENTS • Any parent, vendor or third-party meetings with teachers or administration will be handled by video or phone call, by appointment only. BUS PREPARATION & TRANSPORTATION • Our bus employees have been certified in reopening post-COVID-19 and provided the company’s certified COVID-19 safety protocol. The employee will have their temperature taken and follow CPS protocol. Each one will have their mask, gloves and face shields. • Seven days prior to the scheduled reopening of the school, all the buses will be disinfected using cleaning guidelines and disinfection concentration recommendation for infection disease outbreaks. Once campuses re-open, all buses will be cleaned before and after the morning and afternoon drop-off, using the same process. This process will be unchanged until notified by the school to return to the standard cleaning process. 12
• The bus driver will wear a mask, and all CPS bus riders must bring and wear a mask while riding the bus. Everyone who rides CPS provided transportation should bring his or her own mask to wear. • A CPS representative will take the temperature of all students as they board the buses. Following bus protocol, students with temperatures above 37.5 °C (99.5 °F) will not be allowed on the bus. Please refer to the Protocols for Illness on Campus (page 18) for the procedures to be followed if this situation arises. • Students will sanitize hands with liquid hand gel before getting on the bus. • Seating during the epidemic period will be limited to between 50-60% of the total number of seats available and limited to one child per bus seat. • Proper ventilation will be ensured including opening windows to provide ventilation and fresh air. • A CPS representative will have the following supplies available: - No-Touch infrared thermometer - Hand Sanitizer - Disinfectant wipes - Box of Surgical masks CAMPUS DEPARTURE / PICK-UP PROTOCOL PARKVILLE CAMPUS • Students will exit using the designated routes. • Special attention must be taken to keep 6 feet distance while walking. • All students need to be picked up by car. Parents or guardians must wait for their child in their car and must not get out to prevent possible infection of other children exiting the school. Parents picking up students by car are requested to display the student(s) name/class on their passenger-side dashboard to facilitate faster pickup. • If for any special reason, parents or guardians need to enter the premises, they must call the administration office. If administration approves the entering, temperature will be taken, and masks must be worn at all times. • Children enrolled in our After School Program or who have tutoring sessions will be taken care of by their assigned aide (in the case of After School Program) or designated tutor (in the case of tutoring) who will pick them up at their classroom to begin the established program. • When picking up children from the After-School Program or tutoring session, parents or guardians will follow the same pickup procedures as for school dismissal. Students will be brought to the pick-up area. • If on the Hybrid Learning, children cannot come to school for the After-School Program or tutoring session if that day was a “Home” day. • Co-curricular activities may be modified, rescheduled, or eliminated as public health priorities or governmental mandates dictate. 13
