The “Agenda” serves as WNA’s communication regarding the important health policy issues for this legislative biennium. The WNA Public Policy Council refers to the “Agenda” when reviewing legislative proposals that impact nursing and health care. The “Agenda” is as follows: Wisconsin Nurses Association Legislative & Regulatory Agenda 2021 - 2022 Biennium WNA - Vision - To be a true catalyst for transforming health care through advancing the nursing profession. WNA is the only nursing association that has been appointed and represented by Gina Dennik-Champion, WNA Executive Director. The Committee was formed shortly after the realization that Wisconsin was experiencing the pandemic. Meetings occurred weekly along with subcommittee meeting work. The members discussion led to the development of a number of guidance to health care organizations and professionals documents. The documents can be found on the Wisconsin Department of Health (DHS) Services Website. One of the strategies developed was to increase public awareness on the impact of not wearing a mask in the community has on the number of COVID cases needing intensive nursing care in our hospitals and clinics. Over 20 nursing associations signed on to a message to the public from the Nurses of Wisconsin; “Wear a Mask, For You, For Us.“ Each of the nursing associations took responsibility for asking their members to post and distribute using their social media.
