for the implementation of a COVID-19 Telehealth<br />
Program<br />
• Dr. Paula Zeanah, Lafayette General Medical<br />
Center/Our Lady of Lourdes Eminent Scholar<br />
Endowed Chair in Nursing and the Director<br />
of Research at the Picard Center for Child<br />
Development and Lifelong Learning at UL<br />
Lafayette, received the 2020 Award for Child<br />
Advocacy from the <strong>Louisiana</strong> Chapter of the<br />
American Academy of Pediatrics<br />
• Drs. Paula Zeanah, Jeanne Cartier, and Cynthia<br />
Suire, led a team of faculty members from UL<br />
Lafayette who collaborated with researchers,<br />
faculty, and mental health and social services<br />
sector leaders from across <strong>Louisiana</strong> to produce<br />
the state’s first and most comprehensive report<br />
on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in<br />
<strong>Louisiana</strong>. After the report’s publication and<br />
presentation of findings at the Health Summit<br />
2020 in Baton Rouge, Dr. Zeanah was featured in<br />
a documentary, Toxic Stress: Adverse Childhood<br />
Experiences in <strong>Louisiana</strong>, which aired on the<br />
<strong>Louisiana</strong> Public Broadcasting Network.<br />
• Dr. Lisa Broussard, Associate Dean and Acadian<br />
Ambulance Endowed Professor in Nursing, and<br />
a colleague were selected by Sigma Theta Tau,<br />
the International Honor Society for Nursing,<br />
to develop the faculty development program,<br />
Scholarship of Teaching, which was produced in<br />
collaboration with the authors of the companion<br />
faculty programs, Scholarship of Discovery and<br />
Scholarship of Practice.<br />
• Dr. Melinda Oberleitner, Dean of the College of<br />
Nursing and Allied Health Professions, Professor<br />
in the Department of Nursing, and the BORSF/<br />
SLEMCO Endowed Professor in Nursing, was the<br />
only nurse from <strong>Louisiana</strong> selected for induction<br />
as a 2020 Fellow in the American Academy of<br />
Nursing (FAAN).<br />
• Dr. Denise Linton, a Professor in the Department<br />
of Nursing and the holder of the Dudley Joseph<br />
Plaisance/BORSF Endowed Professorship<br />
in Nursing, inducted as a 2020 Fellow in the<br />
American Association of Nurse Practitioners<br />
(FAANP).
