I would like to extend my
appreciation for all that you do

for our community! You have
dedicated your lives to providing excellent care and
creating a safe, therapeutic environment for our patients
that truly make a difference in the lives of other nurses,
patients, and their families.
Hawaiʻi-ANA would like to engage nurses in “geographic
districts” to work together on community focused outreach
that shows our hoalauna, “Who we are.” We want to
extend a virtual invitation to help us develop a plan on how
we can show up in our communities because that is what
we do. The people on our islands need to know that we
are here, using evidence-based science to care for people
throughout their lives. We have so much to offer! Please
send us an email so we can start that connection with you.
All nurses from students through retirees are welcome to
join in our outreach activities.

GEOGRAPHIC BACKGROUND
Kauaʻi is geologically the second-oldest of the
main Hawaiian islands (after Niʻihau). With an area
of 562.3 square miles it is the fourth-largest of these
islands. Also known as the “Garden Isle”, Kauaʻi lies
105 miles across the Kauaʻi Channel, northwest of
Oʻahu.
Of the 28,704 RNs in Hawaiʻi, 776 hold active RN
licenses and live on Kauaʻi.

Hawai’i-ANA welcomes unsolicited manuscripts,
individual nurse features, student work, and
suggestions for articles.
Manuscripts and articles should be typed spellchecked
with only one space after a period and can
be submitted:
1) As a MS Word document or PDF file
2) JPEG, PNG or PDF for headshots and poster
presentation/graphics
3) Youtube links for videos
Please submit to executivedirector@hawaii-ana.
org.
1) Subject Line: Hawai’i Nurse Submission:
“Name of Article”
2) Include authors’ names with credentials and
affiliation.
3) Please send a photograph of yourself if you
are submitting a feature article or poster
presentation if submitting research/EBP
All accepted manuscripts/articles may undergo
editorial revision to conform to the standards of the
newsletter or to improve clarity. The Hawai’i Nurse
is not a peer review publication. Articles appearing
in this publication express the opinions of the
authors; they do not necessarily reflect views of the
staff, board, or membership.
