Centre. Kargil Protest March, International Day of Peace, U.N.Day, Communical Harmony<br />

Day were celebrated by the Centre. 18 seminars have so far been condcuted.<br />

The Centre has collaboration with Gandhi Smriti and Darsan Samithi, New Delhi<br />

(Government of India), International Centre for Gandhian Studies and Research<br />

Government of India, New Delhi. Shiksha Mandal, Wardha, National Foundation for<br />

Communal Harmony, Government of India, New Delhi and the Unversity of Notre Dame,<br />

U.S.A.<br />

The <strong>University</strong> Grants Commissiion, New-Delhi has approved the, proposals<br />

submitted by the Centre, to introduce Post Graduate Course in Gandhian Studies<br />

(Specialisation in Rural Development and Extension Programmes) from the academic<br />

year 2006-07, with financial assistance of Rs. 8.2 Lacs. The centre for Gandian Studies<br />

was inaugurated by our esteemed Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Jayarama Reddy on 29<br />

Marck, 2006 at the Senate Hall in the Inaugural Session of the National Seminar on<br />

(Impart of Gandian Thought on Globalisation) for which he happened to be the Chief<br />

Guest and was presided over by Prof. N Radhakrishnan, Chairman, Indian Society of<br />

Gandhian Studies, New-Delhi. Prof. A.Ranga Reddy was appointed as the co-ordinator<br />

of this new centre.<br />

PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING CENTRE<br />

The Pre-Examination Training Centre for Weaker Sections offers coaching for<br />

various Competitive Examinations like IAS, IPS, Group-I Services etc. Engineering Students<br />

have the opportunities for undergoing coaching for GATE and other examinations. Apart<br />

from coaching, books and stipend are provided to the students. The students are getting<br />

good ranks in the competitive examinations reflecting the success of the Centre.<br />

CENTRE FOR FUTURE STUDIES<br />

The Centre is planned as a dynamic, comprehensive and holistic research and<br />

teaching centre in future studies. The centre will undertake research projects and offer<br />

CENTRE FOR EXTENSION STUDIES<br />

The Centre for Extension Studies, S.V. <strong>University</strong>, Tirupati functioning since 1990,<br />

was established to strengthen and promote the third dimensior/of Higher Education —<br />

Extension through Teaching, Research and Outreach.<br />

The Centre is interdisciplinary and collaborates with sister departments in the<br />

<strong>University</strong> Viz., Dept. of Home Science, Adult Education, Population Studies, Education.<br />

It has established linkages with Several NGOs., <strong>Sri</strong> Padmavathi Mahila Viswa<br />
