PRIVATE PLAN CHANGE REQUEST<br />
59 BECOMES OPERATIVE<br />
GW Wilfield Limited lodged a private plan change request with <strong>Selwyn</strong> District Council<br />
pursuant to Clause 20 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991.<br />
The proponent sought to rezone Living 2 and Living 2A zoned land in West Melton to a<br />
new zone called ‘Living WM South’.<br />
The Council’s decision to approve Plan Change 59 (PC59) was publicly notified on 14<br />
April <strong>2021</strong>. No appeals were received by the Environment Court.<br />
Private Plan Change 59 will become operative on 17 <strong>June</strong> <strong>2021</strong>. This notice is made in<br />
accordance with Clause 20 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991.<br />
The Operative <strong>Selwyn</strong> District Plan may be inspected online at www.selwyn.govt.nz/<br />
eplan or at any of the Council’s service centres and libraries in Darfield, Leeston, Lincoln<br />
and Rolleston.<br />

MILITARY EXERCISE<br />
Range Activity<br />
01 – 18 <strong>June</strong> <strong>2021</strong><br />
The general public is to be advised that a NZ<br />
Army Exercise will be conducted on the West<br />
Melton Rifle Range area over the period of<br />
01st <strong>June</strong> – 18 <strong>June</strong> <strong>2021</strong>.<br />
The exercise will involve up to 30 personnel<br />
of 2/1 Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry<br />
Regiment from Burnham Military Camp.<br />
Range firing between 0800 and 1700 daily.<br />
Training will involve soldiers firing on the<br />
range and will include Night shooting on<br />
08 and 15 <strong>June</strong> with all firing finished no<br />
later than 11pm.<br />
High explosives will be used over the period<br />
15 – 16 <strong>June</strong> between 10am and 4pm.<br />
No soldiers will be moving in public with<br />
weapons during this exercise.<br />
