AS IT HAPPENED:
Jose Mourinho handed Josh Harrop his Manchester United senior
debut and the midfielder was celebrating in front of the Old Trafford
crowd after scoring just ten minutes into the game.
Next up is Josh Harrop, who has chosen his first
game in senior football.
“Obviously my debut at Manchester United was one
of my favourite moments so far. It was just a great
day all round, I scored and got man of the match.
It couldn’t have gone any better. That was probably
my top moment.
“I found out around two days before that I was
going to be involved, I didn’t tell anyone! I didn’t tell
my family, I just mentioned that I might be involved.
I didn’t want to tell them that I was starting though.
They were buzzing.
“It was unreal to score, it’s what dreams are made
of when you’re young going through the Academy.
It was an absolute dream.
“My second favourite game came at PNE, away
at Leeds in the cup. Brandon Barker scored an
absolute worldy and we went down to ten men.
It became a battle, I think I ended up playing
defensive midfield! Just the way we won that
game, the intensity we played at throughout the
whole game was unreal.”
