Covid stalls event
By ROBYN BRISTOW
The brakes have gone on Amberley’s
car show ‘Rock ‘n' Wheels.
Lock down has forced the show at
the Amberley Domain to be postponed
until October 17.
It had planned to run the
extravaganza as aFather’s Day treat
on September 5, but Rock ‘n’ Wheels
Charitable Trust spokesperson
Katrina Platt says the Trust has
decided to push the show out until
midOctober to avoid the uncertainty
around the Covid19 levels.
Katrina says interest is high in the
event that was scuttled at the last
minute last year because of aforecast
wind storm.
That followed acouple of false starts
because of Covid19 and level 2
restrictions.
But the Trust, buoyed by the support
of vehicle enthusiasts, is keen to have
another crack at celebrating the 10th
anniversary of Rock’n’Wheels.
‘‘People just want somewhere to go
and enjoy being with other car and
motorbike enthusiasts,’’ Katrina says.
Six community groups have swung
in behind the Trust to lend ahand
with all proceeds going back to them.
There are no outside food vendors,
Katrina says.
The Amberley School is offering
parking on the neighbouring school
for visitors for agold coin donation.
