New Zealand’s Seed Specialists
Grain & Seed Machinist / Storeman Position, Rakaia
Cates is a specialist grain and seed production and marketing
company based in Ashburton, Canterbury.
Due to company growth a fulltime seed cleaning machinist / storeman
position has become available in our Rakaia processing facility.
Reporting to the operations manager, duties will include assisting in
the operation of a modern seed cleaning plant, serving farmer clients,
forklift operation and general store duties.
The successful applicant will have customer contact, so a friendly and
efficient manner is essential.
Applicants will need to be physically fit with a positive attitude and be
able to work well in a small friendly team environment.
Previous experience and knowledge of the grain and seed industry
would be an advantage, but not necessary as full training will be
provided.
A current forklift operator’s certificate would also be an advantage.

MILITARY EXERCISE
Live Firing Activity
27-28 November 2021
The general public is to be advised that a New
Zealand Army Exercise will be conducted in the
West Melton Rifle Range area over the period
27-28 November 2021.
The exercise will involve up to 60 personnel
of 2nd / 4th Royal New Zealand Infantry
Regiment from Burnham Military Camp.
Training will involve soldiers live firing on
the West Melton Range, using small arms
ammunition and grenades.
Live firing will occur between 8am until 6pm.
The exercise will also involve the movement of
troops and vehicles by day and night.
The New Zealand Army takes fire risk seriously
and will ensure fire mitigation is present.
