Grain & Seed Machinist / Storeman Position, Rakaia<br />
Cates is a specialist grain and seed production and marketing<br />
company based in Ashburton, Canterbury.<br />
Due to company growth a fulltime seed cleaning machinist / storeman<br />
position has become available in our Rakaia processing facility.<br />
Reporting to the operations manager, duties will include assisting in<br />
the operation of a modern seed cleaning plant, serving farmer clients,<br />
forklift operation and general store duties.<br />
The successful applicant will have customer contact, so a friendly and<br />
efficient manner is essential.<br />
Applicants will need to be physically fit with a positive attitude and be<br />
able to work well in a small friendly team environment.<br />
Previous experience and knowledge of the grain and seed industry<br />
would be an advantage, but not necessary as full training will be<br />
provided.<br />
A current forklift operator’s certificate would also be an advantage.<br />

MILITARY EXERCISE<br />
Live Firing Activity<br />
27-28 <strong>November</strong> <strong>2021</strong><br />
The general public is to be advised that a New<br />
Zealand Army Exercise will be conducted in the<br />
West Melton Rifle Range area over the period<br />
27-28 <strong>November</strong> <strong>2021</strong>.<br />
The exercise will involve up to 60 personnel<br />
of 2nd / 4th Royal New Zealand Infantry<br />
Regiment from Burnham Military Camp.<br />
Training will involve soldiers live firing on<br />
the West Melton Range, using small arms<br />
ammunition and grenades.<br />
Live firing will occur between 8am until 6pm.<br />
The exercise will also involve the movement of<br />
troops and vehicles by day and night.<br />
The New Zealand Army takes fire risk seriously<br />
and will ensure fire mitigation is present.<br />
