Saturday 4th December, 10am–2pm, sees the
return of Arnold Library’s Christmas Craft Fair
and Santa’s Grotto. Start your Christmas shopping
or treat yourself from a variety of crafts created by
local crafters. This is a free event so come along
and take a look at what’s on offer. There is no charge
to see Santa, but spaces are limited so you will need
to book. Tickets are available from Arnold, Calverton
or Gedling Libraries.
We will also have a lovely range of both children’s
and adults Christmas books available so why not
pop in for a seasonal read or two?!
Arnold Library’s opening times are:
Mon - Fri 9am – 6pm & Saturday 9am – 4pm
All libraries close at their normal time on Thursday
23rd December and will re-open at the usual
opening time on Tuesday 4th January.
Wednesday 19th January, 10:30 – 11:30, sees our
first Author Visit since the pandemic struck. We
are pleased to welcome Sarah Ward for an informal
talk over a cuppa. Sarah is a local author, whose
DC Childs crime series is set in the Peak District.
Her latest book The Shadowing is set between
Bristol and Southwell Workhouse and sees the lead
character Hester, a Quaker, set out on a journey to
discover what happened to her sister who eloped a
few years earlier. Tickets are £3 and bookings can
be made through Eventbrite or at your local library.
Study tables, comfortable seating, drinks machine
and the café area along with our regular events are
all back for your pleasure. We are still encouraging
the wearing of face coverings, but this is personal
choice.

At Inspire Learning we continue to offer face to
face courses in our libraries in addition to our online
offer. Our exciting spring programme which will
be published soon – you should receive a brochure
through your letterbox soon. If you don’t receive
one at home, please pick one up at your local library.

Regular Free Events, there is no need to book, just
turn up and have fun with like minded people.
Rhyme, Rattle & Roll – Singing, rhymes and even a
bit of dancing with your Under 3s, every Tuesday and
Thursday morning 10:30 – 11:00am
Knit & Natter – Knit, Crochet and chat over a cuppa
with likeminded people. Monday 2:00 – 3:30pm
Reading Café – Join our friendly group for a chat
with a cuppa. Wed 10am– 12:00pm
