<strong>São</strong> <strong>Roque</strong>’s health system, at the most critical moments of the covid-19<br />
pandemic, served not only to take care of the city’s residents but also as a boost<br />
to neighboring cities, which were able to refer their patients to beds in the city.<br />
During this period, <strong>São</strong> <strong>Roque</strong> even registered more than 70 patients<br />
hospitalized for covid-19. However, on December 3, <strong>2021</strong>, there were no one<br />
anymore. This drastic drop represents the success of vaccination as the primary<br />
measure to combat the pandemic in the city. Controlling the pandemic is<br />
essential for the resumption of economic activities.<br />
