WORTHY OF MENTION
WHEELCHAIRS ARE ALWAYS IN DEMAND AT
SHRINERS CHILDREN’S . . .
Robert Neff
And thanks to Rajah Shriner Robert Neff, the hospital
acquired a very sophisticated one.
In early August, Robert, who lives in Palmerton, heard
that one of his friends, Floyd Brown, was interested in
donating an electric wheelchair to a needly organization.
He found out that the wheelchair in question was an All
Track M3 rough terrain unit made by AmySystems that
retails for over $22,000. The unit was once used by the
sister of Floyd Brown’s girlfriend, JoAnn Glover.
On learning that the unit was an all-terrain one,
Robert made an inquiry at the hospital on their need for
such a machine. He was put in contact with Mark Bulson,
Director of Rehabilitation Services. Mark assured Robert
that the hospital could indeed use the wheelchair. He
said there was a patient that could use it right away. On
hearing the hospital’s need, Floyd and JoAnn agreed to donate the unit.
Thanks to Floyd Brown and JoAnn Glover for their donation and thanks also to
Robert Neff who capitalized on an opportunity to support the Shriners Children’s
Philadelphia.

CARAVANERS
I heard that summer is coming! The snowbirds will be coming back to roost.
Yeah, hard to imagine at this juncture. But that will be the case in just three months. Caravaners will be
having our first campout in April, at the Oasis on the Rajah complex. Yup! At the end of April we will be
holding our first meeting of the year as well.
Sound interesting? Well, you can join us. Come to the meeting to see what we are about.
We meet at the Rajah complex, when we are camping there, on Saturday morning after a communal
breakfast. Or perhaps you would like to come to a campfire and enjoy the fellowship. Campfires are held
weather permitting. It’s a family event.
Yes, it is not the season to be thinking about camping. Or is it? It is never too early to plan for a funfilled
summer. Or maybe just a brief getaway.
You should try it. But be careful, it is addicting. Be safe, be healthy, be a happy camper. And camp on!
