Ladies Luncheon

This annual affair took place at the Rajah Complex on November 13. Lady Beth Frey, wife of Chief Aide ‘Mic’ Frey hosted the

event. Carol Heppe was the guest speaker and gave an interesting talk on Ozella’s Underground Railroad Quilt Code. The Divan

and Aides served lunch. The finale was a special gift of earrings designed by the Jewelry Store.

HOSPITAL SERVICES

Here we go again, beginning the year with a strong start. Once again, the Lancaster area is taking the

lead in providing transports to the Shrine Hospital. While the rest of us are off to a slower start, we are

confident that the requests for transportation will increase soon.

Our list of drivers is growing as well, as we have several Nobles expressing an interest in being part of

this rewarding experience. If any Nobles are interested in joining, let us know.

An extra effort will be made this year to get our HSU parade float out of mothballs and into action.

Noble President Ken Flynn is determined to have the float displayed to the public. It serves as a great

publicity tool to make everyone on the parade route aware of our service to the Hospital and the Children

to whom we serve. This too is an opportunity for any Noble wishing to help. We will need towing vehicles

Walter Lamm and drivers for them to pull the float to and from the parades, as well as in the parade itself.

Here’s to a healthy and prosperous new year for Rajah Shrine, Shrine Children’s Hospital, and more importantly, the kids. After

all, it’s all about the kids.
