Torquay Rowing ClubTorquay's oldestsporting clubTorquay Rowing Club is the oldest sporting club inTorbay, founded in 1869.Although boats and equipment have changeddramatically during its long history, the aims of theclub remain the same: to foster the sport of amateurrowing and to provide amenities for its members.The club has been affiliated to the Royal TorbayYacht Club since the early 1980s. As a result, allTorquay Rowing Club members are also membersof the yacht club and enjoy full use of the facilities itprovides.The club isn’t all rowing. Many formal and informalSocial events are organised throughout the yearfrom barbecues, rounders and bowling nightsto the Crab Supper, Club Supper and the finestChristmas event in Torbay, the Holly Ball.We aim to get members on the water as often aswe can. We row both Fine River boats competingfor the ‘West of England Championships’ andMonday EveningMen's TrainingTuesday EveningLadies' TrainingThursday EveningClub DaySaturday Morning Beginner Taster SessionsSunday MorningClub DayOffshore Coastal boats, competing in the ‘CoastalRowing League’. Membership is open to the wholecommunity for fitness, health and wellbeing andfor competition racing.
