WELCOME TO OUR 2022
WALK TO END HOMELESSNESS!
Thank you for participating in this year’s walkathon! Although we
were hoping to have an in-person event this year, as planning began
and we talked to many of you, we made the decision to stick with the
same remote model that was so successful last year. Thank you for
rising to the challenge! It’s exciting to see how many of our
congregations, neighborhoods, and school-based Family Promise
Clubs formed teams to walk together and raise funds and awareness
for our programs. We’ve heard that many of the groups are hosting
cookouts, luncheons, or coffee and donuts before they walk. We can’t
wait to see your photos! And thank you especially to all the Team
Captains that organized their teams and walk routes. We can’t do this
without your hard work and enthusiasm.
We know that mid-May is a busy time of year for many of you and
we really appreciate the support that you and our business
community have offered us. Because of your compassion and
dedication to our mission, we were able to serve a record number of
64 families including 101 children in 2021. This spring we are looking
forward to the reopening of our Day Center and the launch of our
new, permanent shelter site. We can’t wait to bring our families,
volunteers, and staff all together again under the same roof.

chapter for Family Promise Metrowest.

ABOUT
FAMILY PROMISE METROWEST
Based in Natick, Massachusetts, Family Promise Metrowest serves
low- and moderate-income families with children that are
homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Our Shelter program, supported by 51 multi-faith congregations
and the community at large, offers temporary housing, food, and
other essential support. Families also meet weekly with a family
coach to work toward goals that address the root causes of their
housing instability. Our SAIL program (Sustaining Achievements
for Independent Living) supports families that graduate from our
shelter with subsidies and ongoing coaching to ensure their
successful transition back into community housing. Our LIFE
program (Local Initiative for Family Empowerment) helps
families facing eviction or shelter entry remain in safe housing by
providing subsidies for rent in arrears or security deposits to
immediately move into new housing, along with family coaching
to build long-term sustainability. Lastly, all families are supported
by the Steps to Success program, which offers educational and
career-building resources to help parents and teens increase their
income and break the cycle of poverty.
Our approach to addressing family homelessness and housing
instability is simple. We believe motivated families that are
homeless can move themselves out of poverty and become selfsufficient
if given resources, guidance, and encouragement. We
envision a future in which every family has a stable home, a
sustainable income, and the chance to build a better life. Learn
